On Tuesday November 22, 2016 at 2:51 a.m. in the 23600 block of SE 186th Street Maple Valley Fire units were dispatched to a passenger vehicle fire. Upon arrival fire crews found a fully involved passenger vehicle fire in the driveway.  Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The passenger side window had been broken and the fire intentionally set. The incident remains under investigation. The estimated property loss was $6,000.

Also on Tuesday November 22, 2016, at 3:13 a.m. in the 26000 block of SE 216th Street Maple Valley Fire units were dispatched to a transport vehicle fire. Upon arrival fire crews found a fully involved cargo truck fire. The truck was empty and without cargo. Burning magnesium automotive parts made the fire more difficult to extinguish; firefighters used water mixed with foam in the extinguishment of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The estimated property loss was $17,500.
