Printmaking Aztec Symbols Art Workshop
Thursday, February 23, at 3 p.m.
Presented by Amaranta Sandys, Artist.
Ages 8 and older.
There are twenty months and thirteen days in each month in the Aztec calendar, and every month is represented by a symbol such as the serpent, jaguar and elements such as the wind. Choose a symbol and use a basic printmaking technique to create cards. All supplies provided.
Please register online beginning February 2.

AARP Tax Help
Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, February 1-April 15, 10am-4pm
Get free individualized tax preparation assistance provided by trained AARP volunteers. No age or income limits. Please bring picture I.D., documented proof of Social Security Number, and last year’s return as well as any current tax documents. No complex or business returns. Please pickup and complete the AARP intake form at the Information Desk.
Appointments for the first week will be taken starting on Monday, January 23. Priority is given to walk-ins, but if you are unable to come please call to make your appointment, 253.630.8761.

EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT IT
A Conversation with Peter S. Beagle and Deborah Grabien

Presented by Rise Up Arts.
Two authors who have worked closely together discuss their work and each other’s. Deborah edited Peter’s novels Summerlong and In Calabria; Peter wrote the foreword for Plainsong. The focus of this conversation with the authors will be Peter’s new novel In Calabria and Deborah’s classic utopian fantasy novel, Plainsong. These two novels cover the ideas of ancient theologies in modern settings. A Q&A and book-signing will follow the discussion. University Bookstore will have books available for purchase.
