Black Diamond

On January 28 at 2:14 p.m. on the 31300 block of 3rd Ave., officers were dispatched to a fire assist for traffic control. A tree cutting service was working when a branch fell on the telecommunication lines and snapped a small power pole. The wires were not on the ground and posed no danger. Fire contacted phone company and provided them with the pole number for repair. The pole was placed back upright in the meantime and no telecommunication outage occurred.

On January 23 at 9:29 p.m. on the 29100 block of 216th Ave. SE, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a broken taillight. The driver was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree, and the vehicle impounded. The suspect was released at the scene after being issued a criminal citation.

On January 23 at approximately 5:12 p.m. on the 24700 block of Roberts Dr., officers received a call regarding a vehicle in the ditch. Officers arrived at the location and found a vehicle stuck in the mud on the shoulder of the road. The driver explained to the officer that she pulled to the side of the road to take a picture of Mt. Rainer and got stuck in the mud. The driver had already called a tow truck to pull her from the mud. There was no damage to the vehicle.

Covington

On January 23 at 3:23 p.m. on the 16700 block of SE 272nd St., a male was observed attempting to leave a business with vacuum cleaners. The male was trespassed from the business.

On January 22 at 8:16 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 270th Pl., an officer responded to a business regarding a theft in progress. A male was observed concealing jewelry before exiting the business without paying for the items. When the male saw the officer, he fled the scene. The male was then observed entering another business in the area and jumping a counter before heading for a back room. Upon contact, the male gave a false name. Upon check of the correct name, it was learned that he had several warrants. Search of the male revealed the jewelry. Additional jewelry was found in the bathroom of the business he was apprehended in. The male was trespassed from the first business, while the second business wanted him prosecuted for Criminal Trespass, 1st degree. The male was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) for Theft, 3rd degree, Criminal Trespass, 1st degree, and Obstructing Law Enforcement Officers.

On January 21 at 10 p.m. on the 16700 block of SE 272nd St., a female was observed concealing some ice cream and a box of hot chocolate in a bag she was carrying. The female exited the business without attempting to purchase the items. After finally giving her correct name, the female cried and attempted to cut a deal with the officer. Other items found with the female included a pair of gloves and socks. The female was trespassed from the business and booked into SCORE for Theft, 3rd degree.

King County

On January 28 at 11:28 p.m. on the 29100 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, while making a routine check of a local park, two vehicles were observed parked in the parking lot. One of the vehicles had 4 occupants. Upon contact, an odor of marijuana could be detected. When asked, one of the occupants stated they had been smoking marijuana. Check of the occupants revealed all except one was under the age of 18 years old. Their parents were notified and juveniles released to the parents.

On January 27 at 3:05 p.m. on the 17200 block of 140th Ave. SE, deputies were dispatched to a multi-car collision. Upon arrival, according to a female driver, while waiting to turn onto a street from a parking lot, another driver collided with the front of her car. The male driver was told several times to turn his vehicle off, but he ignored the deputy until the deputy told him to hand the keys over. While exiting the vehicle, a strong odor of intoxicants could be detected coming from the male. A passenger stated that the male drank intoxicants with his medicine. Due to the male’s inability to follow directions of the first Field Sobriety Test, he was not asked to do any more. The male blew breath samples of .205/.199. The male was released at home pending filing of charges for DUI.

On January 27 between 6 a.m.-5:15 p.m. on the 23000 block of Maple Valley Rd. SE, while parked in a park/ride, someone moved a vehicle as well as siphoned gas from it. It was also reported that someone else had the same thing happen to their vehicle in the lot.

On January 26 at 10:51 p.m. on the 19100 block of 196th Ave. SE, check of a license plate on a moving vehicle revealed the plates were to a different vehicle. While making an attempt to contact the driver, the driver sped up and went through a red light. The deputy suspended the pursuit.

On January 25 between 6:19 p.m. and 4:11 p.m. of January 26 on the 30300 block of 312th Way SE, a business located a stolen vehicle via GPS and contacted police. When deputies located the vehicle, it was occupied by a female sitting in the driver’s seat, with the vehicle running. Check of the female revealed she had a warrant for failing to appear for controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon. According to two males inside of a travel trailer where the female was parked, the female was trying to sell the car to them. The vehicle was confirmed as the stolen vehicle. A large amount of jewelry was found in the female’s possession that was suspected as being stolen. The female was booked on her warrant and Possession Stolen Vehicle.

On January 23 at midnight on the 14200 block of SE 179th Pl., a resident heard his garage door open and went to check it out. The resident’s vehicle, which had been unlocked, was open and a GPS along with garage door remote discovered as missing.

Maple Valley

On January 20 at 7:38 p.m. on the 22100 block of SE 237th St, a male walked into a business, jumped over a counter, and stole 4-6 bottles of prescription medication prior to jumping back over the counter and running out of the business.

 

On January 20 at 9:48 a.m. on the 21700 block of SE 265th Way, it was reported that two I-Pods, a driver’s license, and wallet with driver’s license were found in a clubhouse safe. The driver’s license and wallet/driver’s license were returned; however, the I-Pods were in poor condition and the owners unable to be found.

On January 20 at 9:25 p.m. on the 21700 block of SE 254th Pl., an officer was dispatched to an audible alarm. Upon arrival, the officer observed a door to the garage unlocked and ladder on the side of the garage. A door to the residence was observed opened. Check of the inside of the residence ended with negative results. Items missing from the residence included jewelry and an IPad.
