MV Community Event Features Eggs, Bunnies, Fun at Lake Wilderness Park

It’s a “community” event in the strongest sense of the word. It has been a tradition for over 15 years. The upcoming Maple Valley Community Egg Hunt is on a hard-boiled roll for success once again.

On Saturday, Apr. 15 at 9:45 a.m. a free event for the whole family begins at Lake Wilderness Park. The event kicks off with Maple Valley Fire Department sounding their horn. It continues with an egg hunt, broken down by age groups from “walking” through fifth grade. In addition, egg hunting is followed by games, face painting, free popcorn and coffee, a blow-up slide, pictures with the Easter Bunny and “so much more.” The hunt itself is located near the playground at Lake Wilderness. Additional parking is at Maple Valley Community Center.

With an organized egg stuffing party, all volunteers are welcome to “come help stuff.” They will be filling recyclable plastic eggs with small candies, stickers and toy prizes. Eggs with special tickets inside win a grand prize at the prize booth on the day of the hunt. Volunteers for the egg stuffing party should gather at Maple Valley Community Center on Witte Road, on Saturday, Apr. 8 from 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Other areas needing volunteers and donations include contributions of plastic eggs, candy and treats at three area churches, and help with set-up, host and clean up on Saturday, Apr. 15 at Lake Wilderness Park. Monetary donations are also being accepted. Volunteers and donors can contact: Facebook.com/mvegghunt, or Maralee Rowley, 425-432-0311, at Generational Hope Christian Center, 22303 272nd Ave SE, Maple Valley, WA 98038. Churches that are accepting eggs and candy for the hunt are New Life Church, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, and Generational Hope Christian Church, all located in Maple Valley.

Six main sponsors with their very visible and generous participation are almost certain to guarantee repeat success for the Maple Valley Community Egg Hunt. They are Starbucks Four-Corners location, Yancy T. Sipes D.D.S., Tina McDonough for ReMax, Dan Rowley with Rowley Realty NW, ProActive Building, and Jim Flynn.
