Black Diamond

On July 15 at approximately 12:10 a.m. on the 30400 block of 3rd Ave., officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was taken into custody for driving while license suspended/revoked, 2nd degree, and for possession of a fake driver’s license. The driver was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity).

On July 14 at 11:51 a.m. on the 32600 block of 5th Ave., officers responded to a complaint of a missing adult. Upon arrival, the complainant reported a male was last seen the previous evening around 11 p.m. after a night out partying. The alleged missing male returned home unharmed after getting lost walking home and just after the report was taken.

On July 11 at approximately 10:53 p.m., officers received a call from a local medical center. A nurse wanted police to be aware that a male, who resides in Black Diamond, accidentally shot himself in the leg when he was cleaning out his shed. Officers spoke with the nurse and doctor, who confirmed that the wound was superficial and consistent with the patient’s story about how it happened.

Covington

On July 10 at 4 p.m. on the 27000 block of 168th Pl. SE, it was reported that two males, 24 and 21-years old, were observed removing mail from a mailbox. Upon contact, the males stated that the mail had been falling out of the box and that they were just trying to put it back. Following an investigation, the males were released to their parent.

On July 7 at 4:50 p.m. on the 27000 block of 174th Pl. SE, officers were dispatched to a disturbance. Upon arrival, a female, who had been yelling at children in a daycare, was gone from the scene. Check of the area revealed a female fitting the description in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The female denied being the source of the disturbance. However, she did have a No Contact Order for a male. Check of the male driver with a mobile finger print reader revealed he was not the male on the order, however, he did have a felony warrant for Department of Corrections Escape and a misdemeanor warrant for Providing False Information. The male was booked into SCORE on his felony warrant and the female drove the vehicle away.

On June 23 at 5:30 p.m. on the 17500 block of SE Wax Rd., it was reported that the driver of a vehicle had been stopped in the middle of the road approximately 6 car lengths from the intersection. Witnesses found the male passed out in the vehicle. After being awakened, the male talked with witnesses before causing a rear end collision and then fleeing the scene. The vehicle was located at the registered owner’s address. An open bottle of alcohol was observed on the floorboard of the vehicle. The vehicle owner, who was in the house, came out and was questioned regarding the collision. A strong odor of alcohol could be detected coming from the male. The male gave breath samples of .245/.241 and was booked into SCORE for DUI and Hit and Run, Attended. The vehicle was impounded.

King County

On July 10 between 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on the 26200 block of SE 224th St., a resident entered her house and then noticed that a door had been forced open. Check of the residence revealed no one inside and nothing seemed disturbed.

On July 9 at 8:15 p.m. on the 27300 block of SE Kent Kangley Rd., deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence related vandalism. Upon arrival, according to a male, he became involved in an argument with his mother-in-law to be. The mother stopped the vehicle, told him to get out and nearly ran him over. Because he was angry, when he got home, he hit her vehicle with a lawn chair causing damages. While the account was nearly the same coming from the mother, she did state that the male was banging on the window of the vehicle demanding to be let out. She also stated that after getting out, the male threw rocks at her vehicle. She admitted to running her car at him to scare him, but stopped before hitting him. The male became angry when he was locked out of the mother’s home and that is when he threw the lawn chair at the vehicle. The male was booked into King County Jail for investigation of Malicious Mischief, Domestic Violence.

On July 9 at 7:29 p.m. on the 15200 block of SE 179th St., according to a resident, a vehicle was parked blocking his driveway for several hours. Unable to contact the owner, the vehicle was impounded.

On July 7 at 1:11 a.m. in the area of SE Auburn Black Diamond Rd and 218th SE, a truck was observed with a passenger standing on the external step of the passenger side of the vehicle while it was being driven 25-30 mph. Upon contact, the males explained they were having engine problems and the passenger was trying to isolate the source of the noise. Check of the driver revealed a warrant for Theft, 3rd degree. The male was booked into SCORE on his warrant. Since the passenger had a suspended license, a parent was contacted to pick him up along with the truck.

On July 6 at 11:29 p.m. on the 18300 block of SE Lake Holm Rd., an alarm was tripped for a storage shed. Check of the area revealed the outer pane of a window was broken above the door where the alarm had been tripped. A large rock nearby may have been used to cause the damage.

On July 6 at 2 p.m. on the 17200 block of 140th Ave. SE, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in progress at a business. Upon arrival, a signature gatherer stated that she was asked rudely to leave the front of the business. The manager showed the deputy that according to company legal paper work, signature gatherers were prohibited. Joined by a second signature gather, both felt they had a legal right to be on the property. When given trespass letters, both refused to sign before finally leaving the property.

Maple Valley

 

 

On July 1 at 5:37 p.m. on the 26600 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, officers were dispatched to a shoplift in progress. Upon arrival, it was learned that a female was observed leaving a shopping cart full of items behind as she walked past all points of sale with two large purses full of items. The female was then observed walking to a vehicle with a male, and then driving off to another business. Officers arrived after both went into the second business. After the male emerged from the second business and saw the patrol vehicle, he began walking in the opposite direction. Upon contact, the male stated he was with the female, but did not know where she was or her full name. The male also denied shoplifting any items. Search of the male’s vehicle revealed the stolen items. Meanwhile, the female was spotted across the parking lot and contacted. Check of the female revealed failing to appear for Assault, 4th degree, Domestic Violence. Both were booked into Kent Jail where it was discovered that the male had provided false information. He was then booked into King County Jail on a felony warrant. Both male and female were trespassed from the business. Additional charges for the male included Theft, 3rd degree and Providing a False Name to Law Enforcement, while the female was additionally charged with Theft, 3rd degree.

On July 1 at 2:39 a.m. on the 21700 block of SE Kent Kangley Rd., a vehicle was observed being driven at a high rate of speed. Upon contact, the 15-year old male driver stated he did not know why he had been pulled over. The officer explained about speeding, failing to signal and having passengers – 1 front seat passenger, 4 backseat passengers – without seatbelts. The male claimed he was trying to get the females home before curfew. The four females in the back were released to go home while the female in the front stayed as the vehicle was hers. The male stated his license was at home. During an investigation, it was discovered the male had been giving false information. The female stated she knew the male was only 15 and did not have a license, but she wanted for someone else to drive, so he volunteered. Parents were contacted and the vehicle impounded. The female was released with a warning and the male released pending filing of charges for No Valid Operator’s License – without ID and Providing False Information to Police. Additionally, he was charged with Speeding, Failing to Signal and Operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
