Mayor Carol Benson presided over the Thursday, January 18, City Council meeting with all Councilmembers present.

Resolution No. 18-1223, authorizing the Mayor to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Olympic Environmental Resources for the City’s 2018 Spring and Fall Recycling Events. Passed 5-0

Back log of approving City Council minutes – With many unapproved meeting minutes from 2016 through 2017 to deal with, Councilmembers began the task of tackling the back log by passing the June 16, 2016 and July 21, 2016 meeting minutes in a 4-1 vote with Pepper voting no. The Council also voted unanimously to pass back-logged meeting minutes from June 9, 2016 and July 7, 2016 that were placed under the Consent Calendar. Most of these minutes were provided to Council at meetings in either 2016 or 2017 but were not adopted.

Mayor Sean Kelly presided over the Monday, January 22, City Council meeting with all Councilmembers present.

Ordinance No. O-18-636, creating one new classification/position within the City Manager department, and amending Ordinance No. O-16-596, by amending the 2017-2018 Salary Schedule to add this new classification/position and salary range commensurate with the new classification/position. Passed 7-0

Resolution No. R-18-1211, authorizing the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to Public Works Contract with PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. for construction management services of project number T-28b Phase 1, SE 256th Street Reconstruction. Passed 7-0

Resolution No. R-18-1212, authorizing the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc., for engineering design services of Project Number T-28B Phase II, Witte Road Improvements. Passed 7-0

Resolution No. R-18-1213, authorizing the execution of an agreement with the Greater Maple Valley Community Center regarding the operation and use of certain facilities at Lake Wilderness Park. Passed 7-0

Monday, January 22 Councilmembers unanimously approved the reappointments of members to committees that provide oversight and advice to the Council and Executive on a wide number of issues including David Pilgrim to the King County Landmarks Commission.
