Black Diamond

On May 20 at 3:22 p.m. on the 25200 block of Park St., officers responded to a vehicle parked on the roadway. The driver was finally located at a nearby baseball game and asked to move his vehicle. The driver complied.

On May 16 at approximately 2:27 a.m. on the 31500 block of Lake Sawyer Rd., officers were on patrol when they contacted a suspicious vehicle. Officers identified the two male occupants in the vehicle as well as conducted a record check for warrants. The males were advised that the parking area is closed after dark. After acknowledging the information, the occupants left the parking area.

On May 14 at 6:45 p.m. in the area of Lake Sawyer Regional Park, officers were dispatched to a complaint regarding juveniles and possible drug activity near the park. Upon arrival, it was determined the subjects had previously used marijuana and were unable to drive. Guardians were contacted and took custody of their respective children.

Covington

On May 16 at 5:15 a.m. on the 27100 block of 185thAve. SE, multiple gunshots were heard at a business by nearby employees. Two males, one with a rifle, were observed running behind another business in the area before driving off in a vehicle. The males were stopped and gave confessions to the deed. Back at the scene, multiple shell casings were found at the scene. It was also learned that shots were fired at the security camera. The rifle was located in the vehicle and the males booked into King County Jail for investigation of Burglary.

On May 16 at 3:50 p.m. on the 25400 block of 161stAve. SE, two male suspects were observed carrying a large BBQ grill on the back porch of a residence. It was learned that the grill came from a neighbor’s residence and was old and rusted. The neighbor stated that the thieves had done him a favor by taking the grill. Check of the area ended with negative results.

On May 15 between 9:30 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. of May 16 on the 17100 block of SE 264thSt., someone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a purse containing credit cards and social security cards.

King County

On May 24 at 11:10 a.m. on the 17000 block of 159thPl. SE, two males were caught sleeping in a residence. Upon contact, the males were apologetic and stated that they had nowhere to stay, so they stayed in the vacated residence which was owned by people they knew. There were no signs of forced entry and no damage to the residence. The males were trespassed and then released.

On May 20 at 2:09 a.m. on the 27200 block of SE Kent Kangley Rd., deputies were dispatched to a location where a reported stolen vehicle was supposedly parked. Upon arrival, the vehicle was blocked in and two juvenile females observed ducking down in the vehicle. As a deputy approached the vehicle, a male exited a rear door. While in the process of being detained, the male pulled loose and fled the scene, with the deputy giving chase. The male eventually surrendered, and the females were detained. Parents were called to pick the females up, and the male was booked into the youth center on a warrant. Additional recommended charges for the juvenile male were Obstructing an Officer. It was also learned that a decision had been made that the vehicle was not stolen, but was a civil matter instead.

On May 18 at 1:15 p.m. on the 17200 block of 140thAve. SE, a male was observed attempting to open vehicles in a business parking lot. The male was detained until deputies arrived. The male was booked into the Regional Justice Center for investigation of Vehicle Prowling.

On May 17 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. of May 18 on the 18200 block of SE 240thSt., two students were found to have posted a picture on social media of one of them holding a gun. During an interview with the students, it was learned that the gun was just an air soft gun and there was nothing serious about it. Following further investigation, the boys faced emergency expulsion.

On May 17 between 11 p.m. and 1:20 a.m. of May 21 on the 17200 block of 140thAve. SE, a male was observed entering a business, going to the receiving room and attempting to get into locked alcohol cabinets using a bolt cutter. The male was also observed attempting to get into plastic casing over some alcohol. The suspect was observed making the attempts over several days.

On May 16 at 10:10 p.m. on the 15200 block of SE 283rdPl., a truck was observed parked at a neighbor’s back gate with the lights off and a male suspect walking up the driveway to the resident’s home. The resident yelled to the male suspect that he was on private property and to leave. The male yelled he needed help and kept walking. At one point of the back and forth, the male yelled something about burning the resident’s house down with the resident in it before the suspect walked back towards his vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle was located unoccupied. A male was also located walking along the road with a gas can a few blocks away and denied any involvement with the vehicle or being on the resident’s property. Check of the male revealed he had two warrants – Driving While License Suspended, 3rddegree. The male was booked into Kent Jail on his warrants.

Maple Valley

On May 21 between 3 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. of May 22 on the 22100 block of SE 237thSt., a male was observed entering a business over a two-day period and stealing merchandise both days to the approximate amount of $1,105. Stolen items included kitchen/home goods.

On May 21 at 12:31 p.m. on the 27000 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, a male was observed slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle in a handicap parking stall in a business parking lot. The vehicle door was open, and a male found sleeping with a switchblade/butterfly knife in his lap. Upon contact, the male had drug paraphernalia in his lap that was removed, along with a multi-tool. The male stated he was a heroin user. Following an investigation, he was released with a warning.

On May 20 at 6:45 p.m. on the 27200 block of 216thAve. SE, a female was observed taking cash out of an instructor’s purse. When confronted, the female put the cash down and left the business. Attempts to contact the female ended with negative results.
