Black Diamond Police News Updated 12-4-18

On Friday, 11/2/18, at approximately 3:19 p.m., Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint in the 30400 block of 3rd Ave. Officers conducted an area check and were unable to locate the vehicle described by dispatch. Officers discovered the registered owner for the reported vehicle was owned by a business. The business was contacted and made aware of the report.

On Saturday, 11/3/18, at approximately 2:22 p.m., Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a theft report in the 30700 block of 3rd Ave. After officers arrived, the item being reported as stolen was found on the property.

On Sunday, 11/04/2018, about 1:37 a.m., Officers contacted a vehicle parked in the Boat Launch after dark. Upon contacting the individuals inside the vehicle, it was determined that they were under the influence of intoxicants. The individuals were released at the scene, and a licensed driver removed the vehicle.

On Sunday, 11/04/18, about 6:30 p.m., Officers were dispatched for a suspicious circumstance. Uponcontact, the RP stated that the neighbor was in his own yard with a flashlightand looking into his own trees. The reporting party found this strange. Nocrime.

On Monday, 11/5/2018, about 9:30 a.m., an officer responded to the 32200 block of 5th Avenue for an ongoing barking dog complaint. The officer located the dogs and found them in their fenced yard. The owners were not home. The officer contacted King County Animal Control who advised that the complainant would need to complete their online complaint form. This information was passed on to the complainant.

On Monday, 11/05/18, approximately 11:18 a.m., Officers viewed a traffic accident that occurred at the Black Diamond Automotive garage at Lawson St and 3rd Ave. Upon contacting the driver, he stated that after he exited the Cenex station it appeared his gas pedal had stuck or something had lodged itself on the accelerator. As a result, he struck two parked vehicles, which led to approximately six vehicles being damaged by the accident. The driver was not injured and declined aid.

On Thursday, 11/08/18, at approximately 07:40 a.m., Officers received a call regarding a welfare check.  Officers were informed that an employee of a business witnessed a female parked in front of the gas station. The female had her head back on the headrest with her eyes closed. There were also two small children in the vehicle.  Officers arrived and contacted the female who explained that she had been putting on makeup and she accidentally got some of the makeup in her eye. She closed her eyes and put her head back until her eye stopped stinging.  It was very clear that the female had not been sleeping.

On Thursday, 11/08/2018, at approximately 10:51 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 22400 block of SE 297th Street. Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle had failed to transfer the title of the vehicle into her name. The driver was cited and released at the scene.

On Saturday, 11/10/2018, at approximately 1:01 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 23200 block of Roberts DR. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver’s driving status was suspended in the 3rd degree. The driver was issued a criminal citation and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

On Saturday, 11/10/2018, about 10:50 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the Black Diamond Cemetery, located in the 24400 block of Cemetery RD in regard to a report of juvenilesrunning through the cemetery. Upon arrival, officers contacted the individualsand explained that the cemetery was closed after dark.

On Sunday, 11/11/2018, around 2 a.m., Officers stopped a vehicle in the 30400 block of 3rd Ave for a speed violation. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver, a 24-year-old female, was under the influence of intoxicants. The driver was arrested, and the vehicle impounded.

On Sunday, 11/11/18, at approximately 12:34 p.m., Black Diamond Officers discovered a blocking disabled vehicle in the 21600 block of SE 288th ST. Officers called a tow and stayed on scene until the vehicle was removed from the roadway.

On Sunday, 11/11/18, at approximately 3:13 p.m., Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a hit and run in the 29100 block of 218th PL SE. Officers investigated the scene, took photographs, and spoke with neighbors.
