Black Diamond Police News Updated 4-9-19

On Monday, 03/11/2019, Officers contacted an individual in the lobby of the Black Diamond Police Department who reported that they were in crisis. Officers were able to arrange for transport to a medical facility for evaluation.

On 3/12/2019, an officer was dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle accident, without injuries, at 3rd Avenue and Roberts Drive. The vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, and the at-fault driver was cited for inattentive driving.

On 3/13/2019, an officer was dispatched to a business in the 29000 block of 216th AVE SE for an elderly male who had been standing in the store for three (3) hours waiting for a ride that never came. Contact was made with the subject who advised that he had been removed from his residence, by King County Sheriff’s Deputies earlier in the morning and he did not know how to get his wallet from his residence. The officer on scene put in a request for KCSO to come contact the subject and to escort him to his residence in unincorporated King County to perform a civil standby. The store allowed him to remain until KCSO arrived.

On 3/13/2019, an officer was dispatched to a possible recklessly driven red Dodge Ram pickup that was last seen in the Sahara Pizza parking lot in the 31500 block of 3rd Avenue. The vehicle was located and the driver was counseled on how to make passes safely. No criminal charges pending.

On 3/12/2019, an officer was dispatched to the Lake Sawyer Grocery Store for a male subject who had been waiting in the store until it closed, and now appeared not to have any where to go. The officer arrived and determined it to be the same subject contacted at the store earlier in the shift. The subject requested a ride to the Safeway at Four Corners so he could wait to be picked up. The transport was provided.

On 3/14/19, Black Diamond Officers were advised by the records clerk of a subject who had come into the police department earlier in the day to make a complaint about a loose dog. The reporting party did not say the dog was aggressive. Officers later attempted to contact the dog owner at the address provided by the reporting party in the 32800 block of 3rd AVE. The address given was incorrect and officers were unable to locate the dog owner.

On Friday, 03/15/2019, Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 22100 block of SE 288th. The vehicle fled the scene, and was later located, and the driver, a 21 year old male, was arrested and booked into King County Jail on Felony charges.

On 3/15/19, at approximately 1606 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision in the 32800 block of 3rd AVE. After investigating the scene, it was determined the driver of vehicle one crashed into the rear of vehicle two, due to inattention. There were no injuries, and vehicle one was removed from the scene by Royal Towing.

On 3/17/19, at approximately 1822 hours, Black Diamond Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 30500 block of 3rd AVE. During the stop it was determined the driver, a 23 year old male, was under the influence of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to Enumclaw jail.
