Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk, Black Diamond City Hall, 24301 Roberts Drive, Black Diamond, Washington 98010, until 11:00 a.m., January 22, 2019, for the construction of Roberts Drive Improvements, 135’ West of Rock Creek Bridge to Bruckners Way. The bids will then be opened and publicly read for the construction of improvements in the Public Works Conference Room, unless otherwise posted. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered.
The work to be performed under this contract includes the construction of roadway widening of approximately 525 linear feet of Roberts Drive in the City of Black Diamond to include the installation of a pedestrian walkway across Rock Creek, sidewalks, storm drain inlets for infiltration, and curb and gutter. Other elements include signage, illumination, concrete panel replacement, and utility adjustments. The Engineer’s opinion of probable cost is between $465,000 and $565,000.
Contract documents including plan drawings, specifications, addenda, and plan holders list for this project will be available for viewing and downloading on-line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. Bidders are encouraged to “Register as a Bidder” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and be placed on the “Bidders List”. Informational copies of the plans and specifications are on file for inspection at the Public Works Department located at 24301 Roberts Drive, Black Diamond, Washington.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Black Diamond.
The City of Black Diamond reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding.
No bidder may withdraw his proposal after the hours set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding forty-five (45) days.
