Vern Herbert Anderson, 89, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016.
Vern was born in 1926 in Fargo North Dakota. The family moved to Seattle when Vern was 5 years of age and then in 1943 they moved to Maple Valley.
Vern attended Tahoma High School for one year, 1943-1944. He served in the Navy during WWII and then attended Central College.
He worked for the United States Postal Service in Seattle for 38 years.
In 1953 he married Betty Fazio of Maple Valley. Vern built their dream home in 1960 on Mercer Island where they raised their two sons, Mark and Todd.
He enjoyed being his son’s Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster to many other young men.
His wife Betty preceded him in death, after 52 years of marriage.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 28 at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Renton.
