Maple Valley Firefighters Donate Funds to Vine Maple Place

The Maple Valley Firefighters Benevolent Fund board of directors met with the staff of Vine Maple Place in Maple Valley on February 10th to present a donation in the amount of $7,500.

The money donated by your local firefighters will be used for the Children and Youth programs at Vine Maple Place. Vine Maple Place is a local, non-profit organization that breaks the generational cycle of homelessness by helping single parents with children get safely housed, establish stability and become equipped with the tools they need to become more self-sufficient.

The Children and Youth programs help children build coping skills, address mental health issues, strengthen interpersonal relationships, develop positive identity, and build self-esteem in order to recover from the trauma of homelessness. For more information about Vine Maple Place or to donate, visit www.vinemapleplace.org. The Maple Valley Firefighters Benevolent Fund is a registered 501c3 nonprofit, governed and funded by Maple Valley Fire Department employees who participate in payroll deductions to maintain the fund.

The Benevolent Funds mission is to “Serve the Community and those who serve.”  Anyone wishing to make a donation can contact them at info@mvfirefund.org.  Anyone interested in donating can mail a check to PO BOX 1445 Maple Valley, WA 98038.
