Maple Valley Library Guild Spring Book & Media Sale May 17 – 19
The Maple Valley Library Guild, a non-profit 501(c)(3), is having its semiannual Book and Media sale from May 17-19. Books, CDs, DVDs, and more have been donated throughout the year, by the local public, with most items priced at $2.00 or less. This is a great opportunity to stockpile reading and listening materials, to help the environment by recycling/repurposing/reusing items, and to support Maple Valley Library programs.
Sale proceeds help fund the many children, teen, and adult programs at Maple Valley Library including Story Time; Summer Reading; science, literacy and holiday activities for children; After Hours Night; Game On; Teen Advisory Board; outreach programs for teens; lectures, workshops, discussion groups, and performers for adults; and a variety of other programs available at no charge throughout the year.
The sale will be held in the Maple Valley Library meeting room, 21844 SE 248thStreet, on:
- Thursday, May 17, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. •Friday, May 18, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. •Saturday, May 19, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Those who especially love a bargain will want to take advantage of the Bag Sale on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., where they can stuff a grocery bag full of books and media for only $5.00 (bags are provided by the Guild & not limited to one bag only). Credit cards are accepted for all sales for a minimal fee.
Residents should also keep in mind that the Guild has items available for sale all year at the library. These books/media can be found on the shelves directly inside the main doors and on the Kids’ Cart in the hallway by the meeting room.
Those interested in volunteering with the Guild can find information in the brochures that are available on the shelves by the library’s front doors. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s meeting room. All are welcome.
