The Bear Run 5K is back on June 10

Registration is open at www.maplevalleybearrun.com for the 35thAnnual Bear Run, a special event of Maple Valley Days, on Sunday, June 10th, 2018!

The event will be chip-timed 5K course around beautiful Lake Wilderness. To celebrate the 35thyear of the Bear Run, participants will receive a tech t-shirt when registering by May 30! And like last year, to save you time on race day, we’re providing pre-race packet pick-up at Road Runner Sports in Kent on Friday, June 8 from 6-9 p.m.!

As our Diamond Sponsor, they are offering our registrants $10 off a $30 purchase (or, VIPs get 25% off anything) when you shop during this time!

This event is geared towards seasoned runners, casual walkers, families and kids. Thanks to generous sponsorships from community business leaders, kids 12 and under will participate for free when registered by May 30 (a small registration fee applies).

We’ll be tracking which Tahoma elementary school can generate the most participation for school bragging rights! The Bear Run is a stop on the Silver Striders Grand Prix schedule, which caters to runners 50 years and older, and for the hardcore runners, the event is the first stop of the South King Challenge (a series of four running events in South King County).

NEW this year: Tech T-Shirts for all participants who register by May 30. After May 30, the registration cost increases by $5 and shirts are not assured. Top finishers will be eligible for awards including the coveted teddy bears for age group winners (a Bear Run tradition), cowbells for runners-up, and all participants will be eligible for raffle prizes.

The funds generated by this event support scholarships as well as the Tahoma cross country and track programs. All ages are welcome. Invite your teammates, co-workers, extended family, and friends to be a part of this fun tradition. For more information and to register, visit www.maplevalleybearrun.com.
