Ship Canal Bridge maintenance brings lane reductions Saturday, May 11

Travelers headed south on Interstate 5 toward downtown Seattle should plan for delays Saturday morning, May 11.

Two of the four lanes on the southbound I-5 Ship Canal Bridge will close to allow Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews space to repair the bridge deck. The repairs will help preserve the aging infrastructure and keep the roadway safe for drivers. Crews made similar repairs last weekend in the northbound lanes.

Saturday, May 11

  • The two right lanes of southbound I-5 on the Ship Canal Bridge will close from 3 to 11 a.m.
  • The Northeast 45th Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will also close from 3 to 11 a.m.
