Gertrude “Trudy” Coffey Lauer of Black Diamond, loving mother to Scott Heimberger, passed away peace-fully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. She was 77.
Trudy was born to Clarence Nesja and Evelyn Hunt on May 29, 1942 in Dickinson, North Da-kota. As a child, she lived in North Dakota with her parents and two siblings, Donald and Julie Ann.
In the 1960s she made the move to Washington, settling down in the Maple Valley area. Trudy was a woman of many tal-ents; she worked at companies like Maple Valley Food Center, Boeing, Paccar, and even operat-ed a business of her own, Lauer & Associates. Trudy loved to paint, cook, shop, travel, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was great at nail art, card games, dancing, and hosted the best pot-lucks.
She is remembered by her family as an amazing woman who endured tremendous burdens throughout her life. Despite those burdens, she always had time and smiles for others. She is survived by her son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Jing Jing He, grandchil-dren, Sara and Jacob, as well as many friends and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at Light of Life Lutheran Church in Covington on Saturday, Decem-ber 14, 2019. The family asks that guests arrive by 1:45 p.m; the ser-vice will begin at 2 p.m., with a light dinner to follow.
