Black Diamond Police Reports from Jan. 12 to 16, 2021

On 01-12-21, at approximately 11:19 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a possible impaired driver traveling east on SE 292nd ST from 216th AVE SE. Officers were informed that the reporting person called to report that he witnessed the occupants of the vehicle using intravenous drugs while parked in the parking lot of the Lake Sawyer Grocery and described the vehicle as a copper colored Lexus. Officers conducted an area check for the vehicle with negative results.

On 1/12/2021, at approximately 1512 hours, an officer was flagged down at SE Fir ST and Maple AVE SE regarding a suspicious subject that was possibly casing the complainant residence located in the 23400 block of Summerland lane for packages. The complainant provided the officer with a Ring doorbell video. The video shows a male subject walking past the complainant’s residence. The subject was not located, and no crime was reported during this incident.

On 01/12/2021, an Officer responded to the 31500 block of 3rd Avenue regarding a traffic complaint.  A vehicle was seen driving recklessly in that area. Upon arrival, the vehicle was not located.

On 01/13/2021, officers on-viewed a collision near the 34000 block of SR 169. The vehicle was found abandoned after apparently colliding with downed trees and power lines. The registered owner was located at their residence and the vehicle was later towed from the scene. Washington State Patrol took responsibility for the collision report.

On 01/13/2021, officers responded to the 33000 block of Pacific ST regarding a report of downed power lines. Officers marked the area with cones and Puget Sound Energy was contacted. Officer cleared the call without incident.

On 01-13-21, at approximately 08:10 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious person. Officers were informed that a female called 911 to report that an unknown white female knocked on the front door of her residence in the 23100 block of Alder LN SE. Officers contacted the home owner who stated that her Ring doorbell showed an unknown white female pull a red Nissan pickup (unknown plate) into her driveway. The female exited the driver’s side of the vehicle and approached the front door. The female attempted to open the front door that was locked. The female then walked to the side of the house for a few seconds. When no one answered the door, the female left in the pickup.  Nothing was taken or stolen from the residence or property.

On 01/13/21, at approximately 08:45 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious person. Officers were informed that a female called 911 to report that she saw the Ring doorbell footage from a suspicious person call on the neighborhood’s Facebook page (related to case #210000041).  The female wanted to report that the same suspicious person pulled into her driveway in the 33000 block of Evergreen AVE SE at approximately 22:00 hours on 01/08/21. The same white female she saw on the neighborhood’s Facebook page pulled into her driveway in a newer red Nissan truck (unknown license plate), exited the vehicle and attempted to open her front door. The home owner confronted her and asked her what she wanted and the female stated that she was looking for her friend’s house. The female then drove away from the residence.

On 01-13-21, at approximately 11:55 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious vehicle. Officers were advised that a subject who resides in the 28000 block of 233rd AVE SE called 911 to report that a suspicious maroon SUV (unknown license plate) was driving through her neighborhood and she felt it was suspicious because the vehicle was not known to the area.  Officers conducted an area check for the vehicle with negative results.

On 01-14-21, at approximately 11:00 hours, Officers received a telephone call from a subject who wanted to report that he believed that someone was trying to steal his identity.  Officers contacted the subject who stated that he received notification from his bank that his address had been changed to the residence he previously resided.  The subject stated that he did not change the address and believes that someone else did without his permission. No money was removed from the subject’s account and he closed the account as a precaution.

On 01/14/2021, officers observed a vehicle collide with an elk near the 31600 block of 3rd AVE. The driver was not injured and the vehicle was documented. Officers completed a collision report and cleared the call without incident.

On 01-15-21, at approximately 07:23 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious circumstance. Officers were informed that a subject called 911 to report that he heard 6 to 8 gun shots approximately 1/2 mile west of his residence. Officers conducted an area check west of the 28900 block of 233rd AVE SE with negative results.

On 01-15-21, at approximately 10:21 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious person. Officers were advised that a subject called 911 to report that there was a female standing at the entrance to the Greenbrier housing development with two suitcases. Officers arrived in the area and were unable to locate the female.

On 1/15/2021, Officers were dispatched to an unsecured premise in the 22500 block of SE 304th PL. Officers arrived at the residence and saw the front door was open. Officers knocked and announced and there was no response. Officers cleared the residence and found no signs of criminal activity or forced entry. Officers left a business card and brief note on the front door and cleared the scene.

On 1/15/2020, an officer found an abandoned vehicle in the 22500 block of SE 296 ST that appeared to have been dumped. The vehicle was impounded. An investigation into who abandoned the vehicle is ongoing.

On 01/16/2021, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 30100 block of SR 169 for having no license plates displayed. Subsequent investigation determined that the driver had a license status of Suspended in the Third Degree and was using a counterfeit Trip Permit. The driver was cited and released at the scene and the vehicle impounded.

On 01/16/2021, Officers were dispatched to the Lake Sawyer Boat Launch in regard to a report of an individual yelling at people. Officers contacted an individual in the area who matched the description given. The individual denied yelling at anyone, and agreed to refrain from speaking with anyone while in the park.
