Caitlin Adele Lobdell
May 23, 1990 – May 27, 2021
Caitlin Lobdell made a career of helping others suffering from depression and related problems. She was kind and passionate to all.
At the age of 31, unable to focus on herself, Caitlin succumbed to her own life-long struggle with depression.
While attending Tahoma Senior High, she took Advance Placement classes at Bellevue Community College which allowed her to graduate from UW in two years with a BS in Psychology in 2011. She obtained an internship with Seattle Children’s Hospital as a Clinical Research Associate, and then went on to NAVOS, a provider of mental health services, as a health care coordinator and residential counselor. Caitlin worked as a case manager at the Community Psychiatric Clinic in Seattle, was a case manager at CPC Behavioral Healthcare in Seattle, and a case manager at Sound Mental Health. She received many accolades from her supervisors.
Caitlin attended a semester in France during her senior year at the UW and came back a worldly person full of dreams and plans for her future.
She enjoyed playing girls basketball, gymnastics, guitar lessons, clarinet lessons, camping, fishing, Father’s Day, and family. Her two favorite places in the world were where her dad took her as a young girl: Tyee (a fishing lodge in SE AK) and Disneyland.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents Martin & Adele Treis and Gilbert & Martha Lobdell; brother Taylor Lobdell and step-grandmother Kay Shearer.
She is survived by her parents Steven and Stephanie Rhyner; Martha Lobdell-Fredricks; sister Brianna Rhyner; grandparents Carlton & Marsha Smith; step-grandfather Greg Shearer and Aunt Karen (Dan) South. Uncle Todd (Lisa) Stubbins, Landon Stubbins and Kiyah Moore; Aunt Jillian (Aaron) Stubbins; Aunt Sandra (Dennis) Fox, step-uncles Alex and Kevin O-Neal Smith and many additional relatives.
