“GoodGuys” to “Light Up” Pacific Raceways

This Friday night July 22nd the racing action takes to the quarter mile of Pacific Raceways for the GoodGuys Friday Night Drags, part of the GoodGuys 34th Griot’s Garage Pacific Northwest Nationals being held at the Washington State Fair Events Center in Puyallup.

There will be Sportsman classes of hot rods ’54 and earlier, street machines ’55-’72, and comp cars. Elimination competition starts at 4 p.m. Time trials begin at 10 a.m. for all the “Old School” style of racing as they light up the Northwest premiere drag strip. In addition, there will be Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars from the United Nitro Funny Cars group making ground pounding runs. Talk about bringing back memories, this is the weekend to do just that.

Tickets for the Friday night event are $25 for general admission and kids 7-12 get in for $10.00. The gates open at 10 a.m. for a great day of racing.  Then on Saturday and Sunday take a trip to the Fairground Event Center to view over 2,500 Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars and Trucks thru’ ’97.  There is also the Indoor Car Show, Vendor and Manufacturer’s exhibits, a SWAP Meet, and the Nitro Thunderfest Dragster Exhibition.

Believe me you don’t want to miss that one.  There are other things planned as well for everyone from the kids to the young kids at heart.  This is a weekend to relive the ‘Good Old Days'” of cars and racing. If you have never taken the time to be a part of this amazing weekend, then by all means put it on your calendar.

You will not be disappointed. For more information on either event check out www.pacificraceways.com for the racing and www.goodguys.com for the show.  See you there.
