Victoria (Vicki) Elizabeth Garrett of Ocean Shores passed on January 19th after a 2-1/2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Vicki was raised in Maple Valley, WA. She is a 1968 graduate from Maple Valley’s Tahoma High School.
Vicki initially worked as an Executive Secretary in Seattle.
She married her husband Alan Kniffin at the Cherokee Bay Country Club in Maple Valley WA on December 3, 1977. Her husband was in construction, and they had many adventures in their different locations. Some of the places they lived are San Francisco, CA. Maui, Hawaii. The island of Guam. Orlando, FL, and Roseville, CA Henderson, NV. Vicki loved to scuba dive and took advantage of the warm waters available to her.
When she lived in Henderson, NV Vicki became a realtor for Prudential. She also was a volunteer for charity CIVITAN. Vicki would fill backpacks with food for needy children every week. Vicki also volunteered for several years for the CTEBVI organization. First as a braille transcriber, followed by running their website and as their annual meeting registrar.
When Vicki relocated from Henderson, NV to Bellevue, WA in 2014 she took pottery classes at the Kirkland Art Center. This rekindled her passion for making pottery. When she moved to Ocean Shores in 2017 Vicki became involved in the art community and making pottery in her studio. Her niche was making pottery totems, of which over 50 adorn yards and homes in the area. She became the Vice President of the Associated Arts of Ocean Shores. She was also the Vice president of the annual Art Splash studio tours in Ocean Shores.
Vicki is preceded in death by her first son Jeffery Kniffin who passed in 1999. She leaves behind her husband of 46 years Alan Kniffin of Ocean Shores. Her son Greg Kniffin, Daughter-in-law Maribel, Grandchildren Alex and Luna of Renton WA. Vicki adored her Grandchildren and them, their OMA. Additionally, she leaves a brother Patrick Garrett and sister-in-law Patricia of Oroville, WA. Three Brothers-in-law Stan, Mike, and Kurt Kniffin. Kurts’s wife Ronda, all of California. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vicki’s request in lieu of flowers are donations in her name – Victoria Elizabeth Garrett – to Associated Arts of Ocean Shores or Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle.
Additionally, Vicki’s wish is for a private gathering at a later date in Monterey, CA. Followed by her ashes spread off of Lovers Point in Monterey Bay.
