Community Meeting Being Held in Covington

Over the past two months you have received emails regarding the King County Comprehensive Plan, the legislation that guides land use policy across unincorporated King County. The plan is updated once a decade and affects everything from where homes can be built, to how roads impact surrounding areas, to access to clean water.

The King County Council is in the process of hosting a series of community meetings to gather input and would like to hear from you. Two of these meetings will be held next week in Seattle and Covington.

  • On Thursday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m. the Council will host a community meeting in Covington at Covington City Hall. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

If you cannot attend and wish to provide public comment please use Zoom and enter Webinar ID: 875 1751 7363. You can also watch either of these meetings live on the King County TV livestream, Comcast Channels 22 and 322 (HD), or on Astound Broadband Channels 22 and 711 (HD).

These meetings are a great opportunity to learn more about the plan, ask questions, and make your voice heard. We will continue to host more over the next several months and those will take place in Duvall, Skyway-West Hill, and on Vashon-Maury Island between now and May.

In the meantime, please take an opportunity to learn more about the comprehensive planning process on our website or by watching this video. You can also email feedback or questions to the King County Council at CouncilCompPlan@kingcounty.gov.
