Janice Lorraine Cleek was born in Miami, Florida in 1943. She was the oldest of 4 children born to Cecil and Melvine Conkin. The family moved to San Diego when she was 7 years old.
Janice met Michael Cleek when she was 16 years old at the BBQ Pit. They married in 1961 and had 5 children. The family moved to Hobart, Washington state in 1981. Janice lived in Hobart for 17 years and later moved back to the San Diego area after the death of Michael.
Jan always had a love for animals and for helping people. She loved being a nurse and providing hospice care. She enjoyed traveling and made a pilgrimage to Israel.
As the matriarch of our family, Big Red will be deeply missed but her memory lives on.
Janice is survived by her sister Sherry and brother Steven; her children Lorie, Jana, Michael, Patrick, and Matthew; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
