We kicked off the holiday season with a step back in time this weekend for an old fashioned steam train excursion powered by locomotive Northern Pacific 924. Come join us for this The 2-hour, round trip experience that begins at either the North Bend Depot or the historic Snoqualmie Depot and travels the rails through the scenic upper Snoqualmie Valley. All excursions include a 30-minute stopover at the Train Shed Exhibit Hall and also travel to the top of Snoqualmie Falls for the breathtaking view of the drop to the river valley below.
For those who want to fall in love with trains of all sizes, but don’t have time for a train ride, the Train Shed Exhibit Hall, located at the Museum’s Railway History Campus is open for walk up visitors on Thursdays through Monday from 11 am – 4 pm.
Beginning on the weekend after Thanksgiving, jump into high gear for the holiday season with TWO different train ride options this holiday season – the Yuletide Express and Santa Limited.
First up, join Santa and his elves on November 27- 28, December 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 2021 for the Yuletide Express! This 25-minute holiday excursion begins at the historic Snoqualmie Depot where passengers board the seasonally decorated, antique coaches, and travel west to Snoqualmie Falls, pausing briefly at the crest for its incredible view of the valley below, before returning to Snoqualmie. Each child on board receives a small gift from Santa.
Or, join Santa and his elves on December 11-12, 18-19, 2021 for the Santa Limited steam train. This 2-hour holiday excursion begins at the North Bend Depot. After boarding, passengers ride to the Railway History Campus, where Santa greets each child with a small gift inside the unique Chapel Car 5 Messenger of Peace located within the seasonally decorated Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Guests also receive a holiday cookie on this train excursion.

To ensure a safe experience, limited capacity and social distancing of seating on the train along with frequent cleanings will be performed. All visitors 2 years of age and older are asked to wear masks, and pursuant to state law, masks are required for all visitors 5 years and older. Per King County regulations, all visitors age 12 years and older must show proof of vaccination to visit the Museum and/or ride the train.
