On July 28 at 12:42 p.m. on the 30700 block of 229th Ave. SE, officers were dispatched for a boat that appeared abandoned and was taking on water. Officers were able to locate the owner of the boat, who provided maintenance to his boat to keep it afloat.

On July 27 at approximately 8:34 p.m. on the 25400 block of Cumberland Way, officers received a call regarding a welfare check. Officers were advised that a female called 911 to request a check on her mother, who had not been answering her cell phone, at her residence. Officers located the mother who advised them that her cell phone died. The mother used an officer’s cell phone to call her daughter.

On July 25 at 1:15 p.m. on Lake Sawyer, an officer was dispatched to a jet skier on the lake speeding outside of speeding hours. The jet skier was contacted and a warning issued.
Covington
On July 20 at 1:48 p.m. on the 16900 block of SE 272nd St., officers were dispatched to an assault at a business. Upon arrival, it was learned that a suspect male had pushed another male before picking up a rock and acting as though he was going to throw it into the business. After throwing the rock at a garbage can outside the business, the suspect fled the scene. Another young girl was reported as being pushed in the business as well. It was also learned that prior to the male being pushed, the suspect pushed a cart into a vehicle a couple of times before taking off towards the business. Check of the area led to the discovery of the male walking near the area. Upon contact, the suspect stated that male offended him. The suspect was positively identified and booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) for investigation of Assault, 4th degree.

On July 19 at 8:59 p.m. on the 27000 block of 185th Ave. SE, officers were dispatched for a male walking between vehicles at a business parking lot as well as looking in their windows. Upon arrival, the male was located inside the business pushing a cart with a leaf blower inside that was a display model. After telling officers he left his wallet at home, he was asked how he was going to pay for the item. He claimed his “wife” was in the business and had money. When the female was not found, the male admitted to lying. Using a finger print scanner, the male was identified and found to have a felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. The male was booked into King County Jail on his warrant.

On July 14 at 8 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 270th Pl. two males were observed selecting jewelry, jeans and t-shirt before going into a fitting room. One male went in and the other stayed out in the area. When the male exited the fitting room, a check of the room revealed all items gone with a pair of pants left behind with the tags of the items left in a pocket. The males were contacted in another business with one of the males admitting to stealing the items. After recovering the stolen items, the males trespassed from the business, and then released pending filing of charges for Theft, 3rd degree on the male who stole the items.
King County
On July 29 at 6:17 p.m. on the 17600 block of 140th Ave. SE, a male entered a business wishing to return a bag of make-up without a receipt. When asked for a driver’s license, the male showed an ID card, which was flagged in the business system as someone who often returns items without receipts. The male stated his parent had asked him to return the items. The male was trespassed.

On July 28 at 1:23 p.m. on the 20300 SE 243rd St., a male was observed on the front deck of a residence. He was booked into the Regional Justice Center on warrants for Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree and Contempt.

On July 26 at 11:11 p.m. in the area of SE Fairwood Blvd. and 140th Ave. SE, a driver was observed exceeding the speed limit as well as driving without one of the vehicle’s headlights working. It was also observed that the rear license plate light was out or had been spray painted black. While attempting to make contact, the driver accelerated the speed even more so an attempt to contact was discontinued.

On July 26 between noon and 3 p.m. of July 27 on the 15700 block of SE 182nd Pl., it was reported that a real estate sign had been stolen from a property. A second sign was placed on the property, but it was stolen as well. A relative of the seller moved into the residence on the property and refused to leave.

On July 24 between 12:01-5 a.m. on the 17500 block of 151st Ave. SE, while residents were asleep, a suspect entered a residence via a window with plastic dowel that had been left partially open. Stolen items included a couple of laptops, cellphone, headphones, and microphone. Vehicle keys were also stolen that led to the stealing of the vehicle.

On July 16 between 6:03-10:54 p.m. on the 24100 block of 244th Ave. SE, six juveniles were reported on private property starting a fire. After the juveniles left, a resident followed two of them in their vehicle to another location. Upon contact, the juveniles were given a trespass warning letter.
Maple Valley
On July 21 at 9:57 p.m. in the area of SR 169 and SR 516, a driver was observed making a turn and not yielding to a pedestrian. Upon contact, the male gave the officer an ID card and stated he did not have a license and that the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend. Check of the male returned that he had a warrant for Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree and failing to appear for an unpaid ticket. The vehicle was impounded and the male booked into SCORE on his warrant. An additional charge of Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree was also recommended.

On July 17 at 5:05 p.m. on the 27500 block of Witte Rd. SE, a male was observed riding a bicycle not wearing a helmet. Upon contact, check of the male revealed he had a felony warrant for Theft, 2nd degree. Search of a backpack the male was wearing revealed a bag of meth and paraphernalia. The male was booked into King County Jail on his warrant and his bike donated to a business.

On July 16 at 11:57 p.m. on the 25400 block of Witte Rd. SE, a driver was observed speeding and failing to yield. Upon contact, the female driver admitted to having two alcoholic drinks several hours prior. The female gave two breath samples .272/.249 and was released at her boyfriend’s house pending filing of charges for DUI. Her vehicle was also impounded.
