Construction is complete at the intersection of Kent-Kangley Road and 218thAvenue SE in Maple Valley, Wash. This capital improvement project includes a new left turn pocket from eastbound Kent-Kangley Road onto northbound 218thAvenue SE, a refuge/merge lane for drivers turning off of 218thAvenue SE onto eastbound Kent-Kangley Road, relocation of utilities, and storm water drainage enhancements. These improvements are expected to increase safety and reduce rear end collisions at the entrance to the Cherokee Bay neighborhood.
The project was designed by the Transpo Group, out of Bellevue, Washington, for $109,000 and constructed by Welwest Construction Inc., from Monroe, Washington, for $669,000; both contracts were completed under budget.
A ribbon-cutting event will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM on-site at the intersection of SR 516 and 218thAvenue SE.
