Tahoma High School Senior Receives Admission to the U.S. Air Force Academy

Tahoma High School senior Samuel “Sam” Petersen has learned through a personal phone message from Kim Schrier that the congresswoman has granted him a congressional nomination and also her principal nomination to attend the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Evaluated against hundreds of applicants, Sam was selected as the number one candidate to receive guaranteed admission to the service academy as long as he continues to meet health and academic requirements.

An Eagle Scout and varsity football standout for the Bears, Sam plans to continue in pursuit of his athletic dreams by playing for the Falcons to whom he committed this past February.

Sam is the son of Nicole and Kevin Petersen of Maple Valley.
