Based upon the Governor’s and King County Executive’s expanded actions for protections against COVID-19, the City of Maple Valley will implement the following actions effective 5:00 p.m. today, Friday, March 20, 2020.
- Maple Valley City Hall will close to the public beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 20 through April 6 and potentially beyond. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation and follow guidance from Seattle King County Public Health and the Center for Disease Control.
• Permits, plan submittal, Peddlers Licenses, filing Claims for Damages, deliveries, and other necessary activity can be handled online, through email, postal service, or by calling 425-413-8800, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Building inspections will be suspended through April 6; however special inspections (geotechnical, concrete, etc.) and less complex, simple inspections via SKYPE may continue. Please contact the Building Official, Dee Warnes, at 425-413-6632 or dee.warnes@maplevalleywa.gov for approval. - The Lake Wilderness Lodge remains closed to the public through April 26, 2020.
- All recreation programs are canceled through April 26.
- All rentals (including fields) are canceled though April 26.
- Parks and trails remain open, however, the following amenities are closed.
• Playgrounds, skate parks, restrooms (including port-a-potties), turf fields, sport courts through April 6, 2020.
• Outdoor drinking fountains are also turned off - The Lake Wilderness Golf Course remains open. The Clubhouse restaurant is following guidelines provided by Seattle King County Public Health, and offering take-out service for limited hours.
- The City will continue our Emergency Operations Center activation to Level 3 (to be located at City Hall). Work to develop virtual attendance options for future meetings in order to facilitate continuity of government.
• We encourage staff and Council not to attend meetings of large groups (more than 10 people) and when in meetings to maintain social distancing limits following Public Health and CDC guidelines.
