Black Diamond Reports May 11 to 17, 2020

On 5-11-2020 officers were dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the area of 3rd Avenue and Roberts Drive with subjects running from the scene. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Kent, and five suspects were located and later released pending further investigation. The vehicle was processed by King County AFIS for fingerprints, and later impounded to Royal Towing.

On 5/11/2020, officers contacted a group of subjects in the 32500 block of 3rd Ave related to another incident. The officers found two subjects had warrants for their arrest. One subject was arrested and booked into jail. The second subject was briefly detained before being released

On 05/11/2020, Officers were dispatched to a domestic assault involving a father and son on 5th AVE. Preliminary information was received from the victim that an assault had occurred and the offender had fled the scene. The suspect was located and arrested for domestic violence assault and booked without incident or injury based upon probable cause that he committed domestic abuse against the victim.

On 5/11/2020, officers responded to the 25200 block of Roberts Drive for a single vehicle collision. No injuries were reported. The driver of the vehicle was cited for reckless driving due to numerous traffic violations. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

On 05-12-2020, officers were dispatched to a threats report in the 25500 block of Baker Street. A threatening email had been received. Through investigation a suspect was identified, and later interviewed. The suspect confessed to sending the message to scare the victim. Criminal charges were filed with the Black Diamond Municipal Court.

On 05-13-2020, at approximately 11:45 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a fraud. Officers were informed that a male subject wanted to report that someone tried to file for unemployment using his name.  Officers contacted the subject by telephone. The subject stated that he has no idea who used his name to file for unemployment.

On 05-13-2020, at approximately 12:20 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a parking problem. Officers were informed that a white construction van was parked the wrong direction in front of her residence.  Officers arrived and found that the van was no longer there.

On 05-13-2020, at approximately 12:45 hours, Officers were informed that a male subject left a voicemail at the police department regarding someone who tried to file for unemployment using his name. Officers contacted the subject by telephone.  The subject stated that he has no idea who used his name to file for unemployment.

On 05-14-2020, at approximately 10:45 hours, Officers were informed that a female subject sent an e-mail to the police department regarding someone who tried to file for unemployment using her name. Officers contacted the subject by telephone.  The subject has no idea who used her name to file for unemployment.

On 05-14-2020, at approximately 12:58 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious circumstance. Officers were informed that a female wanted to be contacted on the telephone to report that her roommate has been acting suspiciously.  Officers contacted the subject who stated that her male roommate is suffering from schizophrenia and has been placing hidden cameras in the house to record anyone entering the residence. Officers were informed that the subject was confronted and has agreed to move out.  The female asked for the incident to be documented.

On 5-15-2020, at approximately 0649 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a fraud report to be taken by phone. Officers contacted the reporting party/victim who reported an unknown individual filed for unemployment in their name. The victim is currently working and wanted to document the claim as fraudulent.

On 5-15-2020, at 0758 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a theft report. Officers contacted the reporting party/victim by phone and learned the subject was notified by mail and his employer of an unemployment claim made in his name. The subject is still employed and stated this claim was made fraudulently. Officers provided him with a case number for his records.

On 5-15-2020, at approximately 1019 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a theft from a motor vehicle in the 30300 block of 3rd AVE. Officers made contact with the reporting party/victim on scene and documented the items stolen from the vehicle. There were no witnesses and there is no suspect info at this time. It was later determined that this crime occurred outside the city limits of Black Diamond. Officers forwarded the case to King County Sheriff’s Office.

On 5-15-2020, Black Diamond Officers were assigned a fraud involving fraudulent unemployment claims filed for city employees. This report has been created to document the fraudulent claims.

On Friday, 05/15/2020, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 32800 block of Madrona in regard to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers were able to determine that an assault between roommates had occurred. One individual was arrested and booked into jail on assault charges.

On Saturday, 05/16/2020, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 31100 of 3rd AVE in regard to a noise complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the individuals involved, who agreed to turn down the music.

On 5-16-2020, at approximately 0909 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to the Seventy-Six Gas Station for an unwanted subject loitering on the premises. Officer responded to the scene and made contact with the subject. The subject was instructed to pay for whatever items he needed and leave. The subject complied. Officers cleared the scene without incident.

On 5/16/2020, an officer responded to the 30500 block of Selleck PL for a report of suspicious subjects looking at a house. The officer contacted two subjects who were selling pest control services. The subjects were advised they needed a solicitor’s license within city limits.

On 05/16/2020, at approximately 1819 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department was dispatched to a theft at 30517 Selleck PL. Complainant advised that an unknown suspect attempted to obtain unemployment using her identity.

On 05-16-2020, at approximately 2008 hours, officers responded to a two vehicle collision near the 23600 block of Roberts DR. When officers arrived they determined that there were no injuries. Insurance information was exchanged and one of the vehicles was towed, due to being inoperable.

On 5/17/2020, at approximately 1307 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a parking complaint in the 23200 block of SE 312th ST. Officers arrived on scene and issued five written warnings, which were posted on the windshield of the vehicles.

On 5-17-2020, at approximately 1523 hours Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a parking complaint for a trailer in the 24700 block of Mason ST. Officers arrived on scene and found the trailer, which was legally standing and parked legally. Officers spoke with the owner of the trailer and advised him of the complaint. Officers took no enforcement action and cleared the scene.
