Black Diamond Police Reports

June 1 to 7, 2020

On 06/01/2020, Officers were called in reference to a fraud report. the reporting party advised that unknown person(s) had fraudulently used her information to file for unemployment benefits. A case report was taken and the case is considered closed pending further leads.

On Tuesday, 6/2/2020, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to the 32400 block of Morgan Dr. regarding a welfare check. Officers contacted a subject, who was experiencing a mental health episode. The subject was sent to the hospital for further evaluations.

On Tuesday, 6/2/2020, at about 1729 hours, an officer came across a three vehicle collision in the 30700 block of 3rd AVE. No one reported being injured during the collision. One driver was cited for speed to fast for conditions. Two of the vehicle were towed from the scene.

On 6/3/2020, an officer received a report of a dog bite that had occurred in the 23200 block of SE 312 ST. The victim did not wish to pursue charges but wanted to make an informational report. Animal Control was advised of the incident as well.

On 6/3/2020, an officer responded to the 31600 block of 3rd Ave for a report of multiple vehicles stopped trying to catch three loose dogs. When the officer arrived there were no stopped vehicles or loose dogs.

On 6/3/2020, an officer was flagged down about a collision that occurred in the 32600 block of 4th Ave. The reporting party admitted to clipping a stop sign causing it to break and fall down. Black Diamond Public Works responded to fix the sign and a collision report was taken.

On 6/4/2020, at about 1000 hours, an officer took a malicious mischief report that occurred in the 17300 block of SE 270th Pl, Covington, WA. It was reported that an unknown vehicle throw a can of transmission fluid out the window hitting the complainant’s vehicle. No one was injured during this incident and there is no suspect information available.

On 6-5-2020, at approximately 0838 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to an unwanted subject in the 29000 block of 216th AVE SE. Dispatch advised there was an unwanted subject in the area who’s dogs had been off leash. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the reporting party who stated two dogs had been off leash and running by his fence causing his dog to bark. He was upset that this was a violation of the local leash ordinance. I contacted the dog owner and advised him of Black Diamond municipal code requiring dogs to be leashed in public spaces. He stated he understood.

On 6/5/2020, at about 1015 hours, an officer was contacted at the Police Department regarding a theft of KN95 MASKS that occurred in the 22000 block of SE 295th PL, Black Diamond. Currently, there are no leads for this case.

On 6-5-2020, at approximately 1159 hours, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a follow up regarding a report of suspicious vehicle earlier in the day. Officers contacted the reporting party who advised there had been an increase in vehicle traffic throughout the night as well as possible municipal code violations regarding the state of his neighbors property. Officers will continue to make an attempt to contact the property owner to advise him of the violations so they can be corrected. This will be an ongoing case until contact is made or the City’s community development team is notified.

On 6/5/2020 an officer was dispatched to a malicious mischief report in the 29200 block of 218th PL SE. The victim’s vehicle had a smashed out driver’s side window after leaving her vehicle parked on the street for 4 hours. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. No suspects at this time.

On 6-6-2020, Black Diamond Officers were dispatched to a fire department assist in the 30400 block of Blaine AVE. An anonymous caller reported there was a burst water line at the location. Officers arrived on scene and contacted individuals at the residence and advised dispatch the scene was safe for fire personnel. After fire arrived officers cleared the scene.

On 06-06-2020, at approximately 1730 hours, officers responded to the 29200 block of 218th PL SE regarding a parking complaint. When officers arrived, they found a construction vehicle to be parked and partially obstructing traffic. The construction business was contacted and it was agreed that the vehicle would be removed by the company. Officers cleared the scene without incident.

On 06-07-2020, at approximately 1903 hours, officers were dispatched to the 29100 block of 218th PL SE for a report of a suspicious person on a property under construction. Officers cleared the property with negative results but later contacted the suspected individual. The subject was released and officers cleared the scene without incident.
