We all know what effects this year has brought to all of us. We have struggled through some difficult times with all that has happened. No one has been affected more than the children. Trying to understand what has occurred in 2020 has not been easy for any of them. So this year’s Annual NW Toy Run being held December 6th at Pacific Raceways has more meaning than previous years. As always this is for the kids that might not have a Christmas morning of joy.
This year’s event is following in a similar manner as the successful Trunk or Treat on Halloween. It will be a Drive Thru with toys and donations being dropped off and the end of the multiple lanes that will be open. As is the custom for the Toy Run this year being presented by NW Crime Stoppers and Toys for Tots entrance to the event will be a new unwrapped toy or a $5.00 donation.
This year for an additional $20 you and your vehicle can participate in what is being called the “Covid Crawl.” After you drop off your toys and donations you can take a lap around the 2.25 mile 10 Turn road course of the premier racing facility of the Northwest. The speeds will be limited to a slower pace of 15-20 mph. Members of the various Car Clubs will be staged around the bowl showing off their rides. It will give you and your group a taste of what the road course drivers see during a race. At the end of dropping off your toys and donations or the “Covid Crawl”, you will be directed to the exit. This as has been the case at all events this year will be a masked event. This is the last event of the season and the most meaningful for all the children looking forward to Christmas. I know from experience from past events they won’t be disappointed. The event will be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
