A Different Race on the Schedule

This year Pacific Raceways have seen various racing sanctions take on the historic 2.25 mile 10 turn road course.  There has been SOVREN, IRDC, SCCA, Lucky Dog Racing League and others.  They have all had their days at the track.  This weekend October 8th-10th a new race is born, the 1st Annual Pacific Raceways Invitational.  The race is being presented by Michael’s Automotive Group with proceeds benefiting the Heart Center at Seattle Children’s.  So what is so special about this race, you ask?  All the racing sanctions in and around the Northwest will be racing together in the 5 different Groups.  There will be cars from the vintage style racers, full race production cars both open wheel and closed wheel.

There will be Test and Tunes on Friday.  Saturday morning all Groups will have qualifying times.  The afternoon will consist of Sprint Race #1 for all Groups along with an All Formula Ford Race and the Wild West Sedan Challenge.  Sunday morning will feature Sprint Race #2.  Then in the afternoon there will be a 25 minute Feature Race for all 5 Groups.  There will also be 4 Demo Races which for a donation to the Heart Center you can take a ride in a 2 lap race around the track.  In addition there will be a giant Car Show to take in.  All the racing action begins at 9:00 AM and goes to 5:00 PM each day.  Tickets are $15 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday.  A two day Super Ticket is available for $20.  Active duty military with ID are free as are kids under 12.  Friday admission is free to all.  Gates open at 9AM all three days.  This looks to be a huge three day racing event as the 2021 Racing Season draws to a close.  It’s the first time all the sanctions compete together and is going to be a lot of racing excitement for everyone.  Tickets are available on line at Pacific Raceways Invitational or give the track a call at (253) 639-5927.  For more information check out www.pacificraceways.com.  Hope to see you there.
