Richard S. Breland Passed Away

Richard S. Breland, 76, passed away in Gig Harbor, WA on July 11, 2022. He was born in Gulfport, MS in 1945 and grew up in southern California, graduating from Hueneme High School in 1964. 

He moved to Western Washington in 1976 and to Maple Valley in 1981, living there until moving to Gig Harbor several years ago.
Richard’s entire career was spent repairing and painting cars, and was known for working on various vehicles in his garage. 

He was also known for his jokes, knowing all of his neighbors up and down the street, and his love of children.

Richard  is survived by his wife, Claudia, his children: Elaina Breland, Oxnard, CA, Cecelia (Barak) Lior, Newbury Park, CA, Matthew (Jennifer) Breland, Enumclaw, WA, Stacy (Perry) Sage, Kent, WA and Steven Breland, Tacoma, WA, and nephew Jason (Lynn) Reed, Bonney Lake, WA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends

Richard’s memorial service is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2022 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Gig Harbor.
