The weekend of July 29th-31st saw the thunder of the National Hot Rod Association descend on Pacific Raceways for the Flav-R-Pac Northwest Nationals. In addition to all the pro teams that competed for the coveted “Wally” trophy there were local drivers from in our area. In the Super Comp class from Maple Valley were Jiovanni Collecchi (top left) and John Collecchi (bottom left).
In the Super Gas class was Greg Hehr of Ravensdale (top right) and Robert Smyth from Hobart (bottom right). Rounding out the local drivers in the Stock Eliminator class was Pete Kost of Covington (middle right). After a three-year hiatus it was great to be back for the Northwest Nationals even if the temperature was in the high nineties. It didn’t stop the fans from enjoying three action packed days of NHRA drag racing. There is more to come this season so check out www.pacificraceways.com for all the information
