Cedar River Water & Sewer District To The Rescue

Earlier this summer two employees of Cedar River Water & Sewer District were driving through the Shady Lake community, when they witnessed a man fall from a 4-foot retaining wall onto a concrete court next to his house.  The employees quickly responded to the fallen man who was lying on his back, disoriented and bleeding from his head.  The employees called 911, kept him talking, and comforted him.

Once aid arrived, they knocked on the neighbor’s doors to find out where his wife worked so the paramedics could contact her.  Several days later, the man’s wife called the District to share their appreciation, stating it was unlikely anyone would have found him until she arrived home 4-5 hours later, and that he may not have survived if not for the quick action of the employees.  Upon hearing of the event, the District’s Board of Commissioners acknowledged the employees for going above and beyond, with their willingness to render aid playing a key role in the positive outcome of a serious medical emergency.

Sincerely,
