Robert Wesley Benedetti Sr. Passed Away

Mr. Robert Wesley Benedetti Sr., aged 78, peacefully passed away on October 25th, 2023, at his home. Born on March 6th, 1945, in Puyallup, WA, Bob led a life brimming with love, joy, and meaningful connections.

He was married to his lifelong sweetheart, Julie M. Benedetti, for 53 years. He was a cherished father to Robert Benedetti Jr., married to Angelina Benedetti; and to John Benedetti, married to Oriana Benedetti. 

A loving grandfather to Serafina Benedetti, and a dear brother to his siblings Tina, Barbara, and Andrew Benedetti Jr. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, students, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In 1976, he earned a Master’s Degree in Education, embarking on a 37-year career at the Tahoma School District, where he made a positive impact on countless lives. 

He founded the Camp Casey program that encompassed various educational aspects such as botany, oceanography, and model rocketry, dedicating himself every spring until his retirement in 2004.  Simultaneously, he dedicated 27 years as a volunteer firefighter with the King County Fire District #43. 

Throughout his career, he was a firefighter trainer, an EMT, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant for over 20 years, solidifying his role as a contributor to the community.

In his earlier years he was an avid runner, played baseball, and served as a ski instructor. He was an avid woodmonger, and gardener. More recently, he could often be seen biking around the neighborhood at sunset, approaching each day with enthusiasm and a smile.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 2nd, 2023,at 11 AM at Maple Valley Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to Arthritis National Research Foundation at curearthritis.org are welcomed.
