What does one do with the popsicle stick once they’ve finished the frozen treat? How often does a used lunch sack go into the garbage? And what about a paper plate – does it serve only one purpose? Not according to D’Ann Tedford, aka “The Puppet Lady”. She will be visiting Black Diamond Museum on Wednesday, July 24 to demonstrate how she’s created puppets from many household items that would normally be tossed away.

The special event consists of two short presentations followed by time for children to gather at a table where they will get assistance in creating their own puppets. In addition, each child will be sent home with a bag of supplies so they can get creative at home. Both the event and supplies are free.

Registration is limited to 15 children per session, 1:00-2:00 pm or 3:00-4:00 pm. Families should register at the museum’s website: Blackdiamondmuseum.org. Click “Events” and then click on “Kids Events”. Under Kids Events, continue to the topic “Puppet Making for Kids”.
