Black Diamond Police Reports March 9 to 16, 2021

On 03-09-21, at approximately 08:32 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a civil issue to be handled by phone. Officers were informed that a subject wanted to speak with a Police Officer regarding landlord tenant issues.  Officers called the subject who stated that his landlord evicted him from his residence he was renting in the 32700 block of 3rd AVE.  He wanted to know if the landlord could legally impound his vehicle and change the locks on the doors before he had a chance to completely move out. Officers informed the subject that he would need to consult with a civil attorney regarding those questions.

On 03-09-21, at approximately 08:58 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding abandoned vehicle located in the 32900 block of SE Cottonwood ST. Officers were advised that the manager of the Ten Trails HOA received information from neighbors that three vehicles have been abandoned at the location for the past nine months. Officers arrived at the location and spoke with the owner of all three vehicles who resides in the residence where the vehicles were located. The owner stated that he recently moved to the residence from Utah and plans on obtaining Washington State license plates for all three vehicles this week.

On 3/09/2021, an officer was dispatched to the 32500 block of 236th AVE SE regarding a red pick truck that was possibly leaking gasoline from the bed of the truck. An officers arrived in the area and was unable to locate any signs of a spill.

On 3/09/2021, an officer was dispatched to the 32500 block of Highland Dr regarding a welfare check. The complainant reported seeing people in her home who then disappeared in front of her. Contact was made with the complainant and she was home lone. She was in good health and declined any resources.

On 03-10-21, at approximately 13:56 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding an unwanted subject. Officers were advised that a male subject called 911 to report that his step-son was at his residence and was refusing to leave.  When the subject stated that he was going to call the police, his step-son threatened to punch him.  The step-son then drove away in an unknown make and model white motorhome that he currently resides in. Officers contacted the reporting person who stated that he will be applying for a no contact order.

On 3/10/2021, Officers were dispatched to the 30800 block of 3rd Ave regarding a missing truck canopy. The complainant was contacted via phone. The investigation determined that a male subject took the canopy from the business after seeing a free canopy sign. The canopy was not free and officers were able to contact the male who returned the canopy. The compliant then sold the canopy to the male who had taken it.

On 3/12/2021, a Black Diamond Officer was involved in a three-vehicle collision on State Route 169/ Witte RD in Maple Valley, WA. . The Officer went to the hospital for an evaluation and the other driver declined aid and advised he was okay. The third vehicles was unoccupied and parked in a parking lot. Washington State Patrol took responsibility for investigating the collision.

On 3/14/2021, an officer contacted a vehicle in the 30500 block of 3rd Ave. Through investigation the driver was arrested for driving while license suspended and failure to transfer title. The vehicle was impounded and the subject was booked into jail.

On Monday, 03/15/21 at approximately 0618 hours, Officers responded to the area of the Ten Trails Development, Willow Ave SE & SE Stevens St for a report of a suspicious person walking around looking at houses. Officers did an area check and were unable to locate the subject.

On 03-16-21, at approximately 08:01 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious person at a residence in the 23800 block of Fairfax ST. Officers were informed that a male subject was seen in the driveway of a residence and was attempting to open the door to the parked vehicle in the driveway. The subject then opened the side gate to the residence and walked into the back yard. Officers arrived at the residence and found that he had permission to be on the property from the home owner to paint the house.

On 3/16/2021, Officers were in the area of 33000 Cypress AVE SE, when they located an unoccupied dump truck with its headlight, and interior lights on. The truck also had its driver’s door ajar. The truck did not have plates and officers were unable to locate the VIN numbers. Officers turned off the 

lights and cleared the call. At this point it appears that the incident was an oversight.
