Editor, the VOICE:
On February 3 of this year, the next door neighbor took it upon herself to contact the property owner about a tree that could possibly damage her home. She doesn’t even live there, rents it out, she lives in Sammamish. The owner (Brants) sent an arborist out to check out the tree, he initiated that 10 to 12 trees should be cut down.
My strong objection is that the logger cut down approximately 14 large fir trees (4 foot found and around 80 feet tall on this hill and in doing so the fallen trees took out 2 fir, 3 maple and 5 alders trees also, I asked the logger when they would cut the trees and clean up the disaster, he told me that the trees, brush, limbs will just have to rot. My beautiful backyard next to this greenbelt looks like hurricane Katrina hit!. I went to city hall and a polite young man listened to my story and found that Matthew Torpey, Community Development Manager signed off on this issue. I tried to contact this individual by e-mail and phone and he will not respond.
I understand the cutting of trees that could cause damage to homes, but to just cut and leave them is not taking responsibility.
Sincerely
Terrell Cooper
