City of Maple Valley to host annual Hometown Holidays celebration

Get ready to jingle bell rock around 4 Corners, located at the intersection of Kent-Kangley Road and SR 169, in Maple Valley as we usher in the holiday season with Hometown Holidays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. This annual holiday celebration is free and all ages are invited. The event is sponsored by Johnsons Home & Garden, Wilderness Animal Hospital, and the Edward Jones – Maple Valley Group.

The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with the countdown for the official holiday tree lighting lead by the Mayor and City Council. Santa will arrive shortly after and will be available for photographs at the Maple Valley Fire & Life Safety Station 80. Guests will be delighted while enjoying live performances by the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, Dace’s Rock N’ More, the Tahoma High School Barbershop Club, and Dance Expressions. There will also be craft and activity booths, live reindeer, and photo opportunities with beloved holiday characters. Local businesses and organizations will be offering hot cider and chocolate, candy, cookies, and other tasty treats.

This event is fun for the entire family and provides families an opportunity to give back to the community by bringing a new unwrapped gift and canned food donation in support of the Maple Valley Food Bank & Emergency Services.

Additional event sponsors include Pinnacle Wellness, UW Medicine – Maple Valley Medical Center, Vision Source Maple Valley Eye Care, Cayce-Grove Law, Kirby Nelson Orthodontics, Cedar River Law, SnR Pet Care, and Green City Pest Control.
