Black Diamond Police Reports 7-20 to 27, 2020

On 07/20/2020, at approximately 0108 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department conducted a DUI investigation at the 31500 block of 3rd Ave.  The investigation resulted in an arrest for DUI.

On Monday, 07/20/2020 at 1009 hours, officers contacted the reported party at 28900 block 229th PL SE via phone reference questions about possible harassment over the social media to his adult daughter who was not home at the time. Officers determined there was no threats at this time and gave him resources on how his daughter could obtain an Anti-Harassment order if needed. The reporting party stated that they would call back when his daughter got home if there was any other further information.

On 7/20/2020, an officer received a report of a burglary to two buildings under construction. Someone unlawfully entered two houses that were under construction and cut the power cords off of heaters and stole the wiring. There are no witnesses, suspects, or leads.

On Monday, 07/20/2020 at approximately 1345 hours, officers responded to the 32900 Ten Trails Parkway SE for a burglary report from a new construction home in the Ten Trails Development. A tankless water heater was taken. No suspect information.

On 7/20/2020, officers responded to the 30400 block of 227 PL SE for a report of an order violation. Officers arrested the suspect and they were booked into jail.

On 07-21-2020, at approximately 11:54 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a juvenile problem.  Officers were advised that five juveniles were playing at the Black Diamond Elementary School Playground and removing a sign that was on the wall.  Officers arrived and located the juveniles.  None of the juveniles were attempting to remove a sign belonging to the school.  The five juveniles were informed that the playground was closed and they cleared the area.

On 07-21-2020, at approximately 12:46 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious circumstance.  Officers were informed that a subject wanted to report that someone has cut down a tree in the Lake Sawyer Regional Park.  Officers called the subject and he stated that he has noticed that trees have gone missing in the Lake Sawyer Regional Park over the past few months and he believes that someone may be cutting them down. Officers contacted Black Diamond Public Works who stated that the trees were on Palmer Coaking Coal property and the property owner gave permission to a private citizen to cut down the trees.

On Wednesday, 07/22/2020, Officers were dispatched to the 32300 block of 2nd AVE in regard to a report of an individual passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Officers contacted the driver, and a subsequent investigation determined there was probable cause to arrest the minor driver for Physical Control of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence. The driver was cited and released to the custody of his parents.

On 07-22-2020, at approximately 12:10 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious person that knocked on a door in Ten Trails at approximately 03:30 hours.  Officers contacted the reporting person by telephone and was informed by the home owner that their Ring doorbell showed a female wearing a hospital gown knocking on their door at approximately 03:30 hours.  The female then walked away from the house.  I informed the reporting person that a police officer previously contacted that female wearing the hospital gown. She had been picked up from the hospital by her sister and wondered away from her sister’s house.  I also informed her that the female was safely returned to her sister’s house.

On 07-23-2020, at approximately 10:53 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a hit and run accident.  Officers were informed that an unknown make and model semitruck struck the stop sign located at the Black Diamond Ravensdale RD and 3rd AVE.  The stop sign fell to the ground and the vehicle turned north onto 3rd AVE without stopping at the accident scene.  The vehicle was described as a white side dump, unknown make, model, company or license plate number.

On Thursday, 07/23/2020, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 24100 block of Roberts DR for driving without headlights after dark. Subsequent investigation determined that there was probable cause to arrest the driver for DUI.

On 7/24/2020, at about 1244 hours, Officers were dispatched to the Lake Sawyer Boat Launch regarding a welfare check on a subject who had locked himself out of his vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer determined that the subject did not need any medical aid. Officers gave the subject a bottle of water and requested Royal Towing for him. The tow truck arrived and unlocked the vehicle. Officers cleared the scene without incident.

On Friday, 07/24/2020, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 22100 block of SE 231st ST for a traffic violation. Subsequent investigation determined that there was probable cause to arrest the driver for DUI. The vehicle was impounded and the driver transported for BAC processing.

On 7/26/2020 an officer was flagged down for a dispute in the 29000 block of 220th PL SE. Neighbors were arguing about traffic cones being run over by a vehicle twice during the day. The officer mediated the argument and both

subjects eventually resolved the issue peacefully. No criminal charges pending

On 07/26/2020, at approximately 2018 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department responded to a marine complaint at the 22400 block of SE 296th ST (boat ramp). Upon arrival, contact was made with subjects at the boat ramp and the problem was resolved.

Police Department on a report of a possible robbery and hit and run. Officers provided backing units for Enumclaw while they investigated the incident. Officers later cleared the call without incident.
