Black Diamond Police 2-6 to 2-19-24

On 02/06/2024, Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person call at the 32800 block of Stevens St.  Complainant advised that there were suspicious person in the Ten Trails neighborhood that just left Ten Trails in a vehicle traveling east on Roberts Dr. Complainant further advised that they were possible intoxicated.  Complainant was contacted by one of the responding Officers he advised that he observed the subjects in Ten Trails and did not recognize them. He further advised that he observed that one of the subjects had a can in his hand; however, he was unable to confirm if it was alcohol. The vehicle was located at the 31500 block of 3rd Ave. It was determined that the occupants were not under the influence and that one of the occupants lived in Ten Trails.

On 02/07/2024, an Officer responded to the 31100 block of 3rd Ave in reference to a VIN verification. The Officer verified the VIN number and signed the paperwork for the tow company.

On 02/09/2024 at approximately 1908 hours 22400 block of SE 296th Sat, an officer located a backpack in the parking lot which contained items of moderate value. The backpack and its contents were collected and placed into evidence for safekeeping, until the owner could be located.

On 02/09/2024, Officers initiated a traffic stop in the 31100 block of 3rd Ave for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation found the driver had a suspended license and was in violation of an ignition interlock device. A criminal citation was issued to the driver.

On 02/09/2024, Officers were dispatched to the 22000 block of SE 288th St. regarding a 911 hang-up. This was transferred from King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) who advised the call had an uncertainty of 7 meters and was made from a 911 only phone. Officers checked the address possibly associated and did not locate anyone or any signs of a crime.

On 02/09/2024, at approximately 22:15 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the 32900 Jones Lake RD. Officers discovered that the driver’s license was Suspended/Revoked 3rd Degree. Officers issued the driver a criminal citation for Driving While License Suspended 3rd Degree. A licensed driver took possession of the vehicle at the scene.

On 02/29/2024 an officer was dispatched to the 23000 block of Summerland Lane, in reference to a vehicle parked in a no parking area. Upon arrival, an officer located the vehicle and the vehicle’s owner. The vehicle was removed from the roadway.

On 2/10/24 at 1234 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department was dispatched to 25510 Lawson ST. for a Juvenile Problem. Upon arrival, Officers were advised that a juvenile and grandmother were traveling in a vehicle when the juvenile lashed out and punched the windshield, causing damage to the windshield. Officers were advised the registered owner would like to press charges and referred them to the Renton Police Department due to the crime occurring in the Renton city limits and not within Black Diamond jurisdiction.

On 2/10/24 at 1406 the Black Diamond Police Department was dispatched to suspicious activity at the 33300 block of Evergreen Ave SE. Officers contacted the reporting party by phone and were advised a group of people were outside the home at the park next door and items were heard hitting the siding of the house. The reporting party stated they were unsure of the damage due to not going out to check and unknown who exactly cause the damage. Officers completed a report and found no evidence that a crime occurred.

On 2/10/24 at 1457 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department was dispatched to the 24900 block of Roberts DR. for a Suspicious Subject walking on someone’s property. Officer’s were advised the homeowner yelled at the subject and he was seen running eastbound towards the library. Officers conducted an area check of the library, 3rd Avenue, and all of Roberts DR. and was unable to locate the subject at the time. The subject was later located and identified but there was no evidence a crime occurred.

On 2/10/2024 Officers responded to a report of a suspicious subject in the 32000 block of Abrams AVE. A caller advised that an unknown male was seen walking on their private property but walked away when they yelled at him. An officer located the subject walking in the area of the RP’s address. The subject, who is familiar with officers from prior incidents, denied having been on private property and stated he was just out for a walk. There was no probable cause that a crime occurred at the time of contact and the subject was advised to avoid private property in the future and that he could be arrested for trespassing if an owner chose to pursue charges against him.

On 2/10/2024 Officers responded to a welfare check in the 32700 block of Abrams Ave. A caller advised a wet and shivering male was at her door, asking them to call his mother to pick him up because he had fallen into water while walking on a nearby trail. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the known male just as a family member also arrived to pick him up. Officers called the Fire Dept. and asked them to respond for a precautionary medical evaluation of the male. The FD arrived, treated the male at the scene and the male declined to go to the hospital. The male then left the location with his family member and Officers then cleared the scene without further incident.

On 02/11/2024, Officers were conducting a routine patrol in the 29000 block of 216th Ave SE and located an unsecured door to the premises. Enumclaw PD arrived on scene to assist. Officers found the space behind the door to be clear. Officers found no signs of criminal activity and secured the door. Officers cleared the scene without incident.

On 02/11/2024, an Officer conducted a traffic stop at the 23100 block of Roberts Drive. It was determined that the driver had a suspended license and he was issued a criminal citation.

On 02/11/2024, Officers were dispatched to the 23400 SE Fir St. regarding a traffic complaint. An anonymous caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly and swerving in circles. The vehicle was described as a newer model Ford Bronco with an unknown license plate. Officers conducted an area check but the vehicle was not located.

On 2/11/23 at about 2114 hours, while conducting extra patrol an officer observed a open gate to an unoccupied residence under construction. The home owner had recently reported suspicious activity and asked officers to keep an extra watch. The residence was then checked and confirmed to be secure with no obvious signs of theft. The home owner was then notified of the findings and officers cleared the scene without incident.

On 02/19/2024, Officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle for a speed violation in the 31400 block of 3rd Ave. A subsequent investigation found the driver had a suspended license. A criminal citation was then issued to the driver.

On 02/19/2024, Officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 23200 block of Roberts Dr. for an expired registration. A subsequent investigation found the driver was Suspended in the 2nd Degree and had an outstanding warrant for King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO). The driver was booked into King County Jail 

(KCJ) and was issued a criminal citation.

On 02/19/2024, Officers were dispatched to the 32600 block of 3rd Ave regarding a suspicious vehicle parked at a gas station. A caller advised there was a Chevrolet Malibu with a female driver and a male passenger who slumped over in the back seat. The vehicle was gone upon officers arrival. Upon further investigation, officers determined the vehicle was no longer in the area.

On 2/19/2024, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 34600 block of Enumclaw Black Diamond RD. SE. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested for driving while license suspended in the 2nd degree. The driver was booked into the Enumclaw Jail without incident.

On 02/19/24, Officers were conducting routine patrol southbound on 3rd AVE when they observed two Chihuahua’s running across 3rd AVE. Officers stopped in the 31100 block and were able to secure the dogs in their patrol vehicle. Officers brought the two dogs to the police department and created a social media post to assist in locating the owner of the dogs. Sometime later the owner came to the police department and took possession of her dogs.

On 2/19/2024, an officer stopped a vehicle for a violation observed in the 29100 block of 216 AVE SE. The officer found the driver did not have a drivers license, or insurance, the vehicle was not titled, and the purchase had not been reported. The driver was cited and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
