Black Diamond Police Reports

On 02/03/2024, Officers initiated a traffic stop in the 23900 block of Roberts Dr for a registration violation. A subsequent investigation found the driver possessed a suspended license. A citation was then issued to the driver.

On 2/3/24 at 1450 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department conducted a Traffic Stop at the 32500 block of Willow Avenue after observing a vehicle traveling at higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit sign. Upon contact and investigation, Officers found the driver was operating a motor vehicle without a required ignition interlock device. Officers issued a citation for the ignition interlock violation and an infraction for speed.

On 02/05/2024, Officers were dispatched to the 23400 block of SE 288th St regarding a road hazard. A caller advised there was a missing stop sign. Officers checked the area and found the location with the missing stop sign was outside the city limits of Black Diamond. Officers notified the respective agency.

On 02/04/2024, Black Diamond Officers were contacted by a business owner regarding a hit and run. Officers were advised a DART Bus had caused damage to their property. The driver did not provide any information to the employee’s and left the scene. Officer’s contacted King County Metro, they opened case 00406933. A King County Metro supervisor made contact with the business owner and made arrangements to repair the damages. The supervisor provided the identity of the driver to Officers. Officers made contact with the business owner and were advised they did not wish to pursue criminal charges against the driver.

On 2/5/2024 at 1541 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department conducted a Traffic Stop at the 32100 block of Lake Sawyer RD SE after observing a vehicle traveling west on Roberts DR without a properly affixed license plate to the vehicle. Upon initial contact and investigation, Officer’s determined the driver was criminally in violation of operating a vehicle without ignition interlock, driving with a suspended license, and operating a vehicle with a cancelled title. The driver was booked into Enumclaw Jail.

On 2/5/2024 at 2243 hours, the Black Diamond Police Department located a suspicious vehicle at around the 32400 block of 1st Avenue. The driver appeared to be passed out at the wheel with the ignition running. Upon contact, Officers identified the subject as a prior convicted felon and later observed that the subject was unlawfully armed with a firearm. The subject was booked into King County Jail and this investigation is ongoing.

On 02/06/2024, at approximately 1835 hours, officers were dispatched to the 30800 block of 229th Ave SE, in reference to a suspicious person who was sitting on the front porch of the residence, but left after the home owner returned home. A check of the area by officers yielded no persons matching the description given, or any other persons on foot.
