Black Diamond Reports August 3 to 9, 2020

On 8/3/2020 an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation in the 23700 block of Roberts Drive. The driver was found to be driving without a valid driver’s license. The driver was cited for his infractions and the vehicle was impounded to Royal Towing.

On 8/3/2020, an officer received a report of hypodermic needles found in a public space in the 25400 block of Kanaskat Drive. The officer placed the needles in a sharps container. There was no crime associated with the found needles.

On 8/4/2020, officers responded to the 25100 block of Roberts Drive for a report of a dispute between neighbors. One neighbors car had broken down in a shared alley and was partially blocking the other neighbor removing a trailer from his garage. The development and alley was private property so officers attempted to mediate the dispute between the neighbors. No crime occurred.

On Tuesday, 08/04/2020, Officers were contacted by an individual who turned in a handbag they found on Lawson ST in the 26000 block. There was no ID inside the bag, and it was entered into evidence as property for safekeeping.

On 08-04-2020, at approximately 2327 hours, officers responded to the 31100 block of 3rd AVE for a physical domestic report. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female reporting party had been assaulted by her husband. Officers later placed the male suspect in custody and he was booked into Issaquah Jail for Assault 4th Degree (DV) as well as Exposing Children to Domestic Violence.

On 8/05/2020, Officers were dispatched to the 31200 block of 3rd AVE regarding a citizen dispute about a purchased auto part that the complainant was trying to return. It was reported that a translator was used to speak with the complainant in Somali. Black Diamond Officers arrived on scene and one of them spoke with the complainant in Somali. Officers were able to diffuse the situation which was caused by misunderstanding of the bushiness’ return/exchange policy.

On 8/5/2020, officers responded to the 32900 block of Jones Lake Road for a report of a brush fire. Officers conducted traffic control while the fire department extinguished the fire. Later a parent brought their teenage child to the Police Station who admitted to accidentally starting the fire with a firework.

On 08-06-2020, at approximately 06:54 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a two vehicle collision at the Black Diamond Ravensdale RD and 3rd AVE. Officers arrived at the location and located two vehicles that collided head-on. There were no injuries and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

On 08-09-2020, at approximately 2252 hours, officers responded to the area of SE Fir ST and Hemlock AVE regarding a noise complaint. Fire personnel were also dispatched due to a small controlled fire being present and a burn ban being in effect. Officers arrived and advised the subjects of the noise ordinance. Fire personnel extinguished the fire and advised the subjects of the burn ban. All personnel cleared the scene without incident.
