Maple Valley Creative Arts Council Presents Paint By Tunnels

Cedar to Green Rivers Trail under Witte Rd near the Maple Valley Community Center, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 27 and from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022.

MVCAC is thrilled that Paint By Tunnels, a hands-on community mural project, has been so well received by the greater Maple Valley community. Maple Valley is a beautiful place to live, work and play and Paint By Tunnels is making it even more so!

“We are thrilled to once again have local artist and MVCAC Board Member Jackie Riedel and her daughter Chloe create the design for this year’s mural,” states MVCAC Executive Director Brenda Chrystie. “It’s going to be a fun outdoor event with live acoustic music in the tunnel with families and friends painting sections of mural and plenty of room for trail users to pass. Hopefully, as in past years, a few will even stop, pick up a brush, and join in!” Ms. Chrystie goes on to say, “The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council is all about providing access to and education in the Arts. Paint By Tunnels provides an opportunity for anyone to work on a public art piece and be supported by our volunteers and the Maple Valley community.”

This year’s design will feature local flora and fauna and be created in the same style as last year’s mural. Everyone wanting to help create this year’s mural is encouraged to register to volunteer to paint via www.MapleValleyArts.com.

The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council (MVCAC) was started by volunteers and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1998. MVCAC continues as a volunteer-led nonprofit that prides itself on a demonstrated track record of leadership and trust within our community.
