Black Diamond is making history on June 6th! They will be celebrating a number of milestones with the celebrations of the 250th Birthday of the United States, the 50th Anniversary of the Black Diamond Historical Society the 28th Anniversary of Welsh Day and Heritage Day.
You can find the fun festivities on Railroad Ave in Black Diamond. The Official Ribbon Cutting of the Renovated Coal Mine will be taking place as well.
Festivities are from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with a Car Show, a parade of flags led by the Fife and Drum Corps, Welsh Day festivities, and an official kickoff with George Washington himself!
A costume contest will also be held. Costume Categories will be; US Historical Costume, Local Historical Costume, and Patriotic Costume.
There will be three age groups in each category Child, Teen and Adult. Prizes will be awarded for each category and each age group within that category. Contest will be held at 1 p.m.

For Heritage Day PSWA will have a Welsh booth. Welsh trivia, a map to pin your Welsh roots, kids’ crafts, music from traditional to modern, and more.
CASCADE OF HISTORY will be broadcasting LIVE from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
