Black Diamond Police News – 1-6 to 12, 2020

On Monday, 01/03/2020, at approximately 07:30 hours, an officer responded to a construction site burglary at the 22900 block of Fir Street. There was forced entry into a trailer/office and construction power tools were stolen from its interior.

On 01-06-2020, at approximately 2225 hours, Black Diamond Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 31600 block of 3rd AVE. Officers learned the driver’s driving status was suspended/revoked in the 3rd degree. The driver was issued a criminal citation for DWLS 3rd and a notice of infraction for speeding. The driver signed a waiver and a licensed passenger was allowed to drive the vehicle from the scene at the conclusion of the traffic stop.

On 1/7/2020, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 25100 block of Roberts Drive and found the driver had a suspended drivers license and did not have insurance. The driver was unable to contact the owner of the vehicle so the vehicle was towed from the location

On 1/7/2020, at about 1058 hours, an officer was dispatched and responded to the area of 3RD AVE and Baker ST. for a vehicle swerving in the road way while traveling northbound. An area check for the vehicle was met with negative results.

On 01-08-2020, at approximately 12:10 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a two vehicle collision at 32805 Railroad AVE.  Officers arrived at the scene and found two vehicle parked in parking stalls next to the Black Diamond Bakery. The driver’s of both vehicles informed the officers that they were both backing out of their parking spot at the same time and the vehicles collided in the middle of Railroad AVE. There were no injuries and Officers completed a Motor Vehicle Collision Report

On 01-09-2019, at approximately 0021 hours, officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 32600 block of Railroad AVE. Upon investigation it was determined that the juvenile driver was under the influence of marijuana and had a significant amount in his possession. The Driver was administratively booked and processed for DUI and later released to his parents. The issue of the significant amount of marijuana will be forwarded to juvenile court.

On 01-09-19, at approximately 08:19 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding an assault domestic violence. Officers contacted the victim of the assault at the Sawyer Woods Elementary School. The subject had been assaulted by his wife at his residence a few minutes earlier. Officers contacted the victim’s wife at the residence. The subject was taken into custody for assault fourth degree (domestic violence) and booked into the Enumclaw Jail.

On 01-09-20, at approximately 13:10 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious circumstance in front of the Black Diamond Bakery. Officers were informed that a subject located posters on light poles in front of the business that promoted white supremacy. The subject already removed the posters and called 911 to report the incident.

On 1/9/2020 an officer was dispatched to a malicious mischief report in the 28800 block of 224th AVE SE. Sometime during the night a suspect attempted to steal a boat trailer from the address by cutting the lock on the trailer hitch. No suspect information at this time.

On 1/9/2020 an officer was dispatched to a malicious mischief report in the 28800 block of 224th AVE SE. Sometime during the night a suspect cut a lock on the hitch of an enclosed work trailer and attempted to take it from the constructions sight. No suspect information.

On 1/9/2020 an officer was dispatched to the 25400 block of Kanaskat DR for a basketball hoop that had been sitting on the sidewalk for over a year. Contact was attempted but no one was home at the residence. This information will be forwarded to Black Diamond City Hall to be followed up on for a possible city ordinance violation.

On 01-10-20, at approximately 15:10 hours, Officer stopped a vehicle to conduct a routine commercial vehicle inspection. The driver of the vehicle was suspended in the second degree and was later transported to Enumclaw Jail to be booked on his criminal charge.

On 1-10-2020, at approximately 2059 hours, Black Diamond Officers were flagged down in the 28800 block of 216th AVE SE for a collision that had recently occurred. There were no injuries and neither vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. At the conclusion of the investigation one driver was issued a notice of infraction for operating a motor vehicle without headlights when required.

On Sunday, 01/12/2020, Officers were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle collision in the 29600 block of 224th AVE SE. A vehicle had left the roadway and struck a power pole, leaving live wires across the roadway. Subsequent investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and the vehicle towed from the scene.
