Black Diamond Police News 1-13 to 1-19-2020

On 1/13/2020, an officer responded to the 1700 block of Farrelly St in Enumclaw to assist the Enumclaw Police Department with a burglary. The officer assisted with clearing the building and conducting an area check for the suspect.

On 01/13/2020, at about 1533 hours, officers were dispatched and responded to the area of 22500 block of Cumberland Way regarding an abandoned vehicle. Officers arrived and located the vehicle legally parked in front of the owners residence. No violations were observed.

On 10-14-20, at approximately 14:28 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding an unsecured door at a residence in the 25200 block of Kanaskat DR. Officers were informed that a neighbor called 911 to report that she found her neighbor’s front door open and the home owner was not home. Officers arrived and cleared the residence. Nothing was out of place and there were no signs of forced entry. Due to the strong wind, Officers believe that the door was blown open.

On 1/14/2020, an officer was on patrol in the 29000 block of 216 AVE SE when he located a vehicle legally parked in a private parking lot that appeared to be leaking fluids. Officers were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle. Officers obtained spill pads from the fire department and placed them to mitigate the leaking fluids.

On 1/14/2020, officers responded to the 28900 block of 218 AVE SE for a suspicious vehicle outside a house under construction. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle and found that the construction site appeared undisturbed. Officers checked nearby construction sites as well and could not locate the vehicle.

On 01-15-20, at approximately 18:39 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a parking complaint. Officers were advised that a subject wishing to remain anonymous wanted to report that a white Ford pickup was parked in front of a residence in the 25500 block of Cumberland WAY and had not moved in one month. Officers arrived and spoke with the owner of the pickup who stated that he drove the truck two days ago. The owner was advised that the Black Diamond Municipal Code states that if the vehicle is parked on the City right of way, it must move at least every 24 hours. The owner then moved the vehicle into his driveway.

On 01-16-2020, at approximately 11:00 hours, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 28600 block of 216th AVE SE because the driver was using his cell phone while driving. The driver was issued a criminal citation for driving while license suspended third degree, using a cell phone while driving and was released at the scene.

On 01-16-2020, at approximately 12:10 hours, Officers were contacted by a Correctional Officer from SCORE Jail who wanted to confirm a Black Diamond warrant on a subject. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was booked into the facility.

On 01-15-2020, at approximately 15:00 hours, Officers were contacted by a female at the Black Diamond Police Department who wanted to report that her ex-husband violated a no contact order on 12-12-19. Officer completed the investigation and forwarded the case to the Black Diamond Prosecutor for review.

On 01-17-2020, at approximately 08:16 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding an erratically driven vehicle in the 32600 block of 3rd AVE. Officers conducted an area check for the vehicle and were unable to locate it.

On 01-17-2020, at approximately 11:45 hours, Officers stopped a vehicle at the Auburn Black Diamond RD and Lake Sawyer RD for speeding and expired tabs. The driver was issued a criminal citation for driving while license suspended third degree and a notice of infraction for speeding, expired tabs and no insurance. The driver was released at the scene.

On Friday, 01/17/2020, Officers contacted a vehicle being driven in the 32200 block of Lake Sawyer RD. It was determined that the driver had a license status of Suspended in the Third Degree. The driver was cited and released at the scene.

On 01-18-2020, at approximately 0133 hours, officers responded to the 1800 block of Marshall AVE in Enumclaw to assist Enumclaw PD with locating a DV assault suspect. Officers conducted an area check and located the suspect. The Suspect was arrested by Enumclaw Police and Black Diamond cleared the scene without incident.

On 1/19/2020 an officer conducted a traffic stop for speed in the 31500 block of 3rd Avenue. After investigation the driver was arrested for multiple crimes including DUI. The driver was booked into jail and his vehicle was towed.

On Sunday, 01/19/2020 Officers checked a suspicious unlicensed vehicle on the side of the roadway in the 30000 block of 225th AVE SE. Upon investigation, it was determined that the vehicle registration was expired. The homeowner was advised that the vehicle needed to be moved off the roadway.

On 1/19/2020 an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 31500 block of 3rd AVE. The driver of the vehicle was found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license, and she had several warrants issued for her arrest. The driver was cited and released on the Black Diamond charge of DWLS 3rd degree, and taken into custody on a confirmed warrant issued by the Kent Police Department for hit and run unattended, and DWLS 3rd degree. The driver was transported to the 15200 block of SE Kent Kangley where she was transferred into the custody of a Kent Police Officer. The vehicle was impounded to Royal Towing.
