BLACK DIAMOND POLICE NEWS JAN 20 – 26, 2020

On 1/20/2020, officers responded to the 33100 block of Pacific St for a suspicious circumstance with a vehicle and building being unsecured. During the investigation a subject with a loaded and concealed firearm was contacted. The subject who did not have a permit to carry the firearm was arrested and booked into jail

On or about 01/06/2020 and unknown person brought a set of keys to the Black Diamond Police Department that were found at an unknown location in the city. The owner of the keys is unknown. Social media was used in an attempt to locate the owner of the keys to no avail. The keys will be placed into evidence as found property.

On 01-21-2020, at approximately 13:54 hours, Officers received a no contact order that needed to be served on a male subject. Officer located the male subject at the Black Diamond Police Department and served him with the court paperwork.

On 01/22/2020, an officer took a telephone report of a theft from a construction site located in the 28800 block of 224TH AVE SE. Several construction equipment items were taken. There is no suspect information at this time

On 01-22-2020, at approximately 12:35 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding CPR in progress at a residence in the 32200 block of 3rd AVE. Officer arrived at the residence and the Black Diamond Fire Department were already at the residence. The King County Paramedics arrived a few minutes later and pronounced the male subject deceased. The King County Medical Examiner arrived a short time later and transported the deceased to their facility in Seattle, WA to determine the cause of death.

On 01-22-2020, at approximately 14:34 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a theft report. Officers contacted the reporting person on the telephone who wanted to report that someone stole a tank-less hot water heater from a residence being constructed in the 28800 block of 224th AVE SE. There is no suspect information at this time.

On Wednesday, 01/22/2020, Officers contacted individuals who were in a local park after hours. One of the individuals was the subject of an arrest warrant and was detained. The originating agency declined to confirm the warrant, and the individual was released at the scene.

ON 01/23/20, at approximately 0852 hrs, Officers received a call from Valley Communications radio regarding a suspicious subject in the parking lot of the Grace Community Church, in the 25600 block of Lawson ST. The reporting person advised they did not want the subject trespassed, just asked that they move along. Officers made contact with a male subject who advised he was low on gas and agreed to leave.

On 01-23-2020, at approximately 12:17 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a 911 hang-up. Officer were informed that the call was made from a cell phone with a approximately location in the 24500 block of Morgan ST.  Officers were also told that the call receiver could hear a loud conservation in the background when a call was placed back to the cell phone. Officers arrived at the possible residence where the call was being placed and no one inside the residence admitted to calling 911.

On 01-23-2020, at approximately 12:17 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a 911 hang-up. Officer were informed that the call was made from a cell phone with a approximately location in the 24500 block of Morgan ST.  Officers were also told that the call receiver could hear a loud conservation in the background when a call was placed back to the cell phone. Officers arrived at the possible residence where the call was being placed and no one inside the residence admitted to calling 911.

On 01/24/2020, Officers transported one male subject from the Score Jail to the Enumclaw Jail due to the subject having an Active warrant out of Black Diamond Municipal Court. The subject was booked into Enumclaw Jail.

On 01/24/20 at approximately 1325 hrs, officers received a call from Valley Communications Center in reference to a suspicious circumstance in the 32800 Block of 5th AVE. Reporting person’s truck was parked inside the gate of his property. He noticed that his gas tank was opened at around 1300 hrs. He believes that this must have occurred sometime between 0100 hrs and 1300 hrs but doesn’t think any gas was taken.

On 01/24/2020, at about 1602 hours, Officers were dispatched and responded to the 32800 block of Marino ST, on an loud music complaint. Officers arrived and contacted the residences who were playing music in the garage. They were advised of the city’s noise ordinance and the residence advised they were done for the night

On 1/24/2020 an officer contacted two subjects walking in the area of Lawson Street and 5th Avenue. Both subjects were detained until arrest warrants could be confirmed. The arrest warrant for the male subject was confirmed, and he was placed under arrest. During a search of the male suspect, a large butcher knife was found in the subject’s waistband of his pants. The Federal Way warrant on the female was confirmed, but per FWPD, they wanted the subject released from the scene. The male was transported to the Issaquah Jail where he was booked on the arrest warrant and a charge of possessing a dangerous weapon.

On 01-25-2020, at approximately 0137 hours, officers stopped a vehicle near the 32600 block of 3rd AVE. Upon investigation it was determined that the driver was under the influence of liquor and/or drugs. The driver was arrested for felony DUI as it was his fourth in less than ten years. He was later booked into King County Jail.

On 1/25/2020 an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tabs in the 21500 block of SE Covington Sawyer Road. The driver was found to not have a valid driver’s license, nor did he transfer the title of the vehicle into his name within 45 days. The driver was cited and released from the scene, and Royal Towing impounded the vehicle.

On Sunday, 01/26/2020, Officers were dispatched to the 25400 block of Kanasket DR in regard to a report of damaged mailboxes in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, it was determined that several locked mailboxes had been forcibly opened, and mail removed. This case is in inactive status pending the development of any suspect information.

On 1/26/2020, at about 1325 hours, officers were dispatched and responded to the 32400 block of 1st AVE on a found property report. The caller reported that there was an unoccupied tent in a vacant city lot to the west of her property. The caller stated there was possibly a gun, unknown if it was real inside the tent. Officers arrived and the investigation determined that it was a pellet gun and the tent was on a city owned property

On 1/26/2020, at about 1532 hours, an officer was dispatched to the area of 29000 block 220th PL SE on the report of dogs barking constantly cross the street from the caller’s residence. Upon arrival, the officer located the dogs who were on their property and not barking or causing an issue. The reporting party was provided resources on who to contact if the issue continues.

On 1/26/2020 officers responded to a possible strong arm robbery at a business in the 31400 block of 3rd Avenue. The suspect fled on foot and was later taken into custody nearby. The suspect was eventually booked into the King County Jail for robbery and burglary.
