Black Diamond Police Reports July 5 to 9, 2021

On 7/5/2021, officers were dispatched to the area of Roberts Drive and Ten Trails Parkway SE for a suspicious subject. The subject was said to be walking westbound out of town, and as the reporting party was driving by, he picked up a small puppy that he had with him and slammed the dog to the ground. An area check was conducted but the suspect was unable to be located.

On 7/5/2021, an officer received a call for a marine complaint on Lake Sawyer. Boats were using the weekday speeding hours on a recognized holiday. The 4th of July holiday boating hours fell on the 5th as the recognized federal holiday. The marine complaint was handled by an informational phone call.

On 7/5/2021, an officer was dispatched to the 33100 block of Glacier Avenue SE for a parking complaint. When the officer arrived, he found two vehicles parked blocking a fire hydrant. Both vehicles were issued infractions.

On 7/5/2021, an officer was dispatched to assist the Fire Department with traffic control on a working house fire in the 28800 block of 229th AVE SE. The officer stood by closing the road until the road could be safely reopened.

On 07-06-21, at approximately 10:00 hours, Officers were investigating a burglary at a business in the 29000 block of 216th AVE SE. The victim of the burglary informed the Officers that she was also the victim of credit card theft which unrelated to the burglary. Officers were informed that the business owner had a CHASE credit card mailed to the business and the card did not arrive. Someone stole the card from the mailbox and used it to purchase merchandise at Kohl’s in Covington.

On 07-06-21, at approximately 10:13 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a theft of building materials from the Ten Trails neighborhood.  Officers arrived at the Toll Brothers job shack and were informed that $42,000.00 of plywood was stolen sometime between 17:00 hours on 07-03-21 and 07:00 hours on 07-06-21. There is no suspect information.

On 07-06-21, at approximately 11:45 hours, Officers received a telephone call from an employee from Goodfellow Brothers. The employee wanted to report a theft of brass from over the weekend. Officers contacted the employee approximately 200 yards south of the gate located at Ten Trails PKWY and Walnut AVE SE.  Officers were informed that 52 brass gate valve stems were removed from their housing units and stolen sometime between 17:00 hours on 07-02-21 and 08:00 hours on 07-06-21. There is no suspect information.

On 07-07-21, at approximately 08:52 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a suspicious circumstance in the 25000 block of Summit DR.  Officers were asked to call reporting person who wanted to provide Officers with surveillance video of a subject walking through the Diamond Glenn neighborhood early in the morning. Officers called the reporting person who informed the Officers that someone opened the doors to both of his vehicles that were parked in his driveway sometime between 01:00 and 03:00 hours. He stated that nothing was taken; although, his neighbor e-mailed him surveillance video of a subject walking through the neighborhood.  The reporting person then forwarded the surveillance video to the Officers.

On 07/07/2021, an Officer was dispatched to the 32700 block of Ash Ave SE reference to a traffic complaint. Complainant advised that there were four wheelers driving fast on the dirt road behind/west of Ash Ave SE. Upon arrival the four wheeler was located and the driver agreed to stop using the dirt road.

On 07-09-21, at approximately 08:10 hours, Officers stopped a vehicle on 3rd AVE for speeding.  The rear license plate had been reported stolen out of Kent. Upon completing an investigation, it was determined that the driver was the owner of the vehicle and the vehicle was recently recovered from being stolen. Someone other than the owner placed the incorrect license plate on the vehicle. Officers recovered the license plate.

On 07-09-21, at approximately 13:24 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a possible dispute at a residence in the 22000 block of SE 288th ST. Officers were informed that an anonymous person heard a male and female arguing at the residence. Officers arrived at the residence and contacted the female home owner. She stated that she was loud when asking a male friend of hers to leave and he is no longer at the residence.
