Black Diamond Police News – March 7 and 8, 2022

On 03/07/22, an officer recovered a confirmed stolen vehicle from the 29000 block of 216th AVE SE while on a business check.  The vehicle was unoccupied at the time.  The vehicle was removed from WACIC/NCIC and the owner retrieved it from the scene.  There are no known suspects and/or leads at this time

On 03/07/2022, Officers were dispatched to the 22800 block of SE Redwood ST for a burglary report. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the senior construction manager who showed the officers damage done to the home as well as what had been stolen. There is no suspect information at this time and officers have no investigative leads. This case will be inactive pending additional information.

On 3/7/2022, an officer was advised of an item that was being dropped off for the Chief of Police at the Black Diamond Police Department at 25510 Lawson St. This item was sent by a known subject that suffers from mental health issues.

On 3/7/2022 Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 250000 block of Cumberland Pl. A resident reported that a suspicious male subject has been seen parking in their cul de sac and walking into the woods for about an hour, periodically over the past year. The resident advised that the neighborhood has expressed concern because the male does not live there and it is unknown what he might be doing in the woods. They advised the most recent time the male was seen was at 0400 on 3/7/2022 and requested extra patrols in their neighborhood.

On 03-08-22, at approximately 07:58 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a civil issue. Officers were informed that a subject wanted telephone contact to report that his brother took his vehicle and broke the front axle. Officers contacted the reporting person on the telephone and were informed that the his brother resides with him in the 33200 block of Glacier AVE SE.  The brother took the subject’s vehicle and drove it it Bothell where he struck something that caused the front axle to break. The reporting person understood that the situation was civil; although, he wanted it documented because he is no longer going to allow his brother to reside at the residence.

On 03-08-22, at approximately 12:30 hours, Officers received a call from Valley Communication Radio regarding a parking complaint.  Officers were informed that a subject called 911 to report that there was a yellow Hummer H2 parked at 28800 216th AVE SE and it was obstructing the view of vehicles stopped at the stop sign on SE 288th ST.  Officers arrived at the location and found the vehicle legally parked. The vehicle was not obstructing the view from vehicles traveling on SE 288th ST or 216th AVE SE.

On 03/08/2022, a citizen provided the police department with property found in the area. Officers secured the property and entered it into evidence for destruction following speaking with the property owner.

On 3/8/2022, an officer attempted contact with a suspicious vehicle in the 30400 block of Blaine Avenue. The male subject standing at the vehicle walked away after refusing to stop. The vehicle was impounded as a possible stolen vehicle. No criminal charges pending.
